'''I am leaving wiki temporarily '''. There is one editor in particular insistent on making a pest of themselves. This has happened in the past. They don't let a subject drop and the more you ignore them, the more persistent they get. Then Wiki ceases to be fun. I don't have children and don't work with children for a reason - to keep away from this behavior. I avoid adults who try to involve me in drama. I left Wiki for five or so years the last time and will leave this time as long as I need to this time. I just want to wiki in peace but some refuse to let me. Bye. Revision as of 15:01, 16 October 2014
DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT:
Picayune little details about why I used a twelve hour clock instead of military time or why I used American spelling (because I am an American!) and not British for color. Anything trivial along those lines will be ignored and probably erased from this page. If you don't like that I wrote "Such and such happened at 2:43PM", don't ask me why I did it. If it bothers you enough to leave me a message about it, then make the effort to change it to 14:43. If it doesn't bother you enough to change it, then it isn't worth the effort to leave me a message.
Save your efforts for things that are more important like whether or not an article should be deleted or "Hey, the article you wrote said that Sam's Bar & Grill owned by Celebrity A is in My Town, CA when I really thought it was in Your Town, CA. Can you help me figure out which it really is?"Postcard Cathy (talk) 06:14, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

C'mon, Cathy.
Don't let 'em get you down. Did you look at the AN thread? For the most part, you'll see experienced editors supporting you. (One even pointed out the edit that I placed on your talk page pointing out what Jenuk1985 said about changing Wikipedia.) Just shrug it off, it's all going to pass. Unschool 17:58, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello Cathy, you tagged back in April the above article with a "merge" tag. At that time, I did not understand your proposal because the tag, as it was used, seemed to propose the merger of this article with itself. By chance I discovered now that you probably added the tag to the article "Lawrence Cooke" to be merged with "Lawrence H. Cooke", so that the tag message read at Lawrence H. Cooke the same as at the doublet, which did not make any sense to me. (This might be an inherent fault of this tag.) However, you are absolutely right that there are two articles on the same subject, and I will merge them somehow. What actually happened was that on October 14, 2008, I started to complete the listing of Chief Judges, and "Lawrence H. Cooke" (red-linked, with middle initial) was already in the list. I searched for Lawrence Cooke (without initial, that is standard procedure, exacly to avoid this type of thing) and found nothing. Later, I created articles on all red-linked Chief Judges without again checking. Now I found that somebody created on October 28, 2008, an article on Lawrence Cooke (without middle initial) without checking if there was already a red link somewhere. Things like this are rare, but can happen... Kraxler (talk) 18:45, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Department of National Defence Colombia
Dear Cathy,
I'm probably note doing this correctly, so please go ahead and delete this entry as soon as you have read it.
I have only just stumbled across the note on my talk page from you concerning the deletion of the above article. I don't mind that it was deleted, because the purpose I made changes to it have been served anyway: to make it accessible to the almost 300 million people who write Defence rather than Defense. There is now a redirection to the main article and since it was written as Defense originally, who cares. As long as searching for it using British-type spelling will find it, that's all that matters. Forgive my bumbling attempts to modify stuff, but I need more spare time to become familiar with the most efficacious way to do it.

The article Jahn's has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- A7 -- no credible claim of notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Epeefleche (talk) 00:25, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Stuart Goldfarb
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stuart Goldfarb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. gsk 22:02, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Stuart Goldfarb. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. gsk 22:02, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
The template says I can. And if you give me more than five minutes to keep working on the article, you might not need it. Excuse me from saving the article often because I am on a public computer. Geez.

Wiki Loves Pride 2014
Hi Postcard Cathy. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Atlanta's Wikipedia:Meetup/Atlanta/Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. We are expanding the LGBT Atlanta, Georgia pages. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --tdempsey (talk) 06:59, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
About the Elliott porter page
Okay Elliott porter I keep on putting a redirect on but someone keeps on editing it hence why there were 2 of them. Thanks. (I'm not sure if it makes it for notability either to be honest) Wgolf (talk) 03:15, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing it. I thought I was doing something wrong! Postcard Cathy (talk)
You need to provide a reference or source that Beers attended ALHS (just like all the other entries on the ALHS alumni list). Quis separabit? 14:58, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- I noticed that the person who created the Beers article is a single issue editor, that is he/she only created the Beers article, and is otherwise uninterested in editing Wikipedia, thus he/she is not familiar with editing rules, hence my need to fix the Beers article, which included removing a lot of POV/OR text. Quis separabit? 15:02, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
That is fine with me. I went there to categorize and ended up providing internal links. When it comes to things you are talking about, I usually rely on the judgment of others. Postcard Cathy (talk)
Paratores
You replaced a valid category of the piano duo by one that doesn't exist. Please do one of the follwing: revert your edit or create that category. A fine category doesn't help anybody as long as it's not there to look at and to see in what hierarchy of categories it's in. - I thought my edit summary told you the same, no? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:23, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
Category:Jonathan Bullard
Hey, Cathy. I saw this edit earlier: diff. Category:Florida Gators is a master parent category that includes multiple subcategories for teams, athletes, coaches, etc. The correct subcat for individual Florida Gators football players, strangely enough, is Category:Florida Gators football players. This is a common pattern for American college sports. I thought you would want to know for future reference. Regards, Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 05:40, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Oops sorry!
I hit the dang roll back button by mistake, so yeah sorry about that! Wgolf (talk) 21:08, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Mimi Sheraton
The page Mimi is not the right place for people with the given name "Mimi", e.g. Mimi Sheraton; that page is Mimi (given name). You mention Constantin Mimi in your edit summary; he is at Mimi because of his surname. I suggest you revert your reversal of my revert. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:51, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!
I reverted your addition to AmfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research because you did not provide a citation to a source that was not self published. I thought I would tell you directly because I know you know your way around Wikipedia, and I thought you might have a special reason for doing this that I do not understand. This is not done for nonprofits that I have ever seen. Blue Rasberry (talk) 02:25, 2 October 2014 (UTC) |
Hope these hints are helpful
Hello, Cathy,
Came here out of curiosity, and noted you seem to have a recurring problem. To avoid being interrupted while editing, post the "inuse" template at the top of the article thusly:
Warns off interrupting editors, but doesn't do much about bots.
And to deflect our picayune "cousins" who insist on the natural superiority of their brand of English, here's a helpful template to post on the article Talk page:
I have found both of these templates to be very handy.
Georgejdorner (talk) 19:31, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Very helpful. Thank you. Many years ago, the British way of spelling is the only way to spell on wiki people were so condescending, it is part of the reason I left. Postcard Cathy (talk)
PS edit conflicts seem to come from my iPad. I have to hit save more than once many times and that leads to problems. Postcard Cathy (talk)
Wim A. G. Blonk

Robert Henry Eringer
I apologize to you, I should have addressed this article sooner.
Thank you for your edits on Robert Henry Eringer, the article is a duplicate created by a newbie. I believe that the newbie was trying to deflect an organized character assignation effort on the open internet and the Wikipedia. Here is what the Robert Eringer archive article looked like before I startied improving it.
I am a paid editor, working on the article Robert Eringer. I apologize, I should have looked into making the RHE article a redirect, or at least nominate for a merge by now. (I don't know if there is a duplicate article template.)
On Robert Eringer, there is a discussion concerning the Monaco section, which is woefully incorrect at this point. The latest version of my copy is at Talk:Robert_Eringer#Monaco_proposed_III again, I apologize about the consumption of your time. I will look into some sort of template to warn others that the article is a duplicate topic. 009o9 (talk) 02:46, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't even notice since I was only trying to get rid of the dead end tag. We're you able to merge the articles? Postcard Cathy (talk)
PS your article looks Better. The Henry one seemed fake to me. Postcard Cathy (talk)
- I suggest blanking RHE and making it a redirect to Robert Eringer, however, as a paid editor, I'm not sure if I am welcome to do that kind of editing in the Article space.009o9 (talk) 03:01, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- Merge proposal? Postcard Cathy (talk)
- I would hate to open that can of worms. Some of my edits have some RHE article content.
- we got a plan. Postcard Cathy (talk)
- I left a note on User talk:Grapes033 the account only has one edit (the RHE article), so not sure if I will get a response. I'll give it a day or two and hope nobody else wastes any time on the RHE article. (Which I did tag with a Duplicate template) Thanks you, and so sorry I didn't find and place that template sooner. 009o9 (talk) 03:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
I responded to your question on my userpage, making sure you have been notified. Also, contacted the creating editor of RHE, we have consensus, I'll go ahead and do the redirect. Thanks again! 009o9 (talk) 00:01, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
