Hello, thanks for your message. The Andy King (footballer born 1956) article was moved to Andy King (English footballer) by another editor and I deleted the redirect that resulted from the move as being an implausible search term. Hope that clears that up! Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:13, 28 September 2008 (UTC) |

Sport in Plymouth
Hello, welcome to wikipedia. I see you have returned all the information on our many sports teams to the Plymouth page. As part of a recent tidy up we moved all this information to a Culture of Plymouth page. This was to stop the Plymouth page getting out of hand, which it clearly was. I would agree that a prominent mention of Argyle, Albion and Raiders would make sense on the Plymouth page, but it would better if most description of sports teams be kept to the Culture of Plymouth page. I will probably have a go at sorting this out when I have a mind to. Cheers. Stevebritgimp (talk) 17:56, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Please come to Talk:Plymouth#Sport and give your opinion on where the details of sport in Plymouth should go. —SMALLJIM 22:45, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

TalkSPORT
“ | Is there anyway to barr this user from editing this section? | ” |
This is going to be a little difficult. The user in question is using a range of IP addresses registered to Orange. After they have been given a number of warnings, you could report them to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets. However, administrators tend to be cautious about blocking a range of IP address because it could also take out genuine good faith editors as well. You may also want to read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, as this user will be violating that specific policy as well. Semi-protection (though its unlikely if its just one user or infrequent vandalism) or blocking of that range of IP address may be the way to go in my opinion. --tgheretford (talk) 12:49, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- On second thoughts, because its getting frequent, I asked for semi-protection at WP:RFPP. Hopefully my request for temporary semi-protection might be enough to stop the ongoing vandalism and make the user aware that what they are doing is not acceptable. --tgheretford (talk) 22:49, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Tghe-retford thankyou for your help on this matter. The constant libelous edits being made by this user was getting far too frequent and a pain to keep having to remove. Many thanks again Phenom V1.0 (talk) 01:03, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. They have started to take out their frustration on me. Never mind. I shall check their contributions under their IP address range (some of it particularly offensive to Jewish and gay people) and ask for help from administrators, preferably before the semi protection runs out on the TalkSPORT article and whilst the same user keeps on vandalising. --tgheretford (talk) 21:45, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!
