With regards to this ANI thread and review of your recent edits, it is clear that: |
|||
* you have been violating wikipedia's WP:SOCK policy by logging out to continue edit-warring on multiple pages; |
|||
* and violating wikipedia's verifiability and no original research policies by adding/updating information to hockey-related article that is not backed up by published sources |
|||
If you wish to discuss the issue of when player statistics should be updated and what sources can be used for the purpose, you should do so at WT:HOCKEY and establish consensus that is compliant with wikipedia's content policies. Trying to get your way through edit-warring will only lead to lengthier blocks. Abecedare (talk) 21:23, 28 February 2019 (UTC) |

WP:SOCK
I must inform you that you are not allowed to use two accounts for editing per your edit here. That is called sock puppetry and can get you banned. I also posted the same message on your other account's talk page, because I do not know which account you will be using from this point. In addition, you should not disclose your personal information (your real name in this instance) per WP:USER and WP:REALNAME. – Sabbatino (talk) 11:27, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- @NichasHui: Based on your edit summary here, could you place the retired template on the other account if you no longer plan to use it, as recommended at policy WP:VALIDALT. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 08:31, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello
This message was not only unnecessary, but it was incorrect seeing as how I'm the one who forgot to change the URL when copying the reference from the previous game. I think it would be wise for you apologize to Magnus221, and in the future perhaps consider just fixing a mistake and moving on without making a comment. Wikipedia and copyright
Hello NicholasHui, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Ariel Castro kidnappings have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:27, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
The discussion you started at ANI
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. You recently posted about an editor at the Admin's Noticeboard for Incidents. I recommend you return to the thread and familiarize yourself with its developments, as they concern your continued conduct as well. Please remember to be civil if you do choose to engage at the noticeboard. -- Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 07:58, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
Please stop updating 2018-19 NHL season team articles
It would be appreciative if you would stop updating those articles, while the ANI report is in progress. GoodDay (talk) 03:13, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
Will you please STOP making anymore updates. You're messing up articles. GoodDay (talk) 05:16, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
ARE YOU DEAF or CAN'T READ?? STOP updating the articles, as you're messing up the rankings. GoodDay (talk) 17:52, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
Looks like you (and your socks) are gonna be blocked. GoodDay (talk) 18:05, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
February 2019
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2018–19 Edmonton Oilers season. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. If there's a dispute, you need to wait until the ANI is resolved, otherwise you are being disruptive and potentially edit warring. Also, please refrain from getting personal in edit summaries. As well, you need to read WP:OWN -- these articles are not here for you to do as you please. Discuss these issues at the ANI and the article talk pages. freshacconci (✉) 17:14, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at 2018–19 Edmonton Oilers season shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. freshacconci (✉) 17:15, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at User talk:Freshacconci. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. freshacconci (✉) 17:21, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

Talk about your actions, not those of other people. Please see WP:GAB to understand how to craft an unblock request. Thanks! Yamla (talk) 18:55, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Socking, edit-warring and original research
With regards to this ANI thread and review of your recent edits, it is clear that:
- you have been violating wikipedia's WP:SOCK policy by logging out to continue edit-warring on multiple pages;
- and violating wikipedia's verifiability and no original research policies by adding/updating information to hockey-related article that is not backed up by published sources
If you wish to discuss the issue of when player statistics should be updated and what sources can be used for the purpose, you should do so at WT:HOCKEY and establish consensus that is compliant with wikipedia's content policies.
