Malcolm X—image from aftermath of assissanation
My error—I assumed an image in the box had just been deleted from Commons. — Neonorange (Phil — 09:12, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- No problem, Neonorange. There were a lot of image-related changes in the past few days. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 01:02, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Living Person - Date of Birth
I am confused, my initial edit, for 1970-1971 was correct. I have seen that on many Wikipedia pages where the date of birth is uncertain. Also, how was it poorly sourced, if the years can be extrapolated from the publication date?
— Rmkane (talk) 13:04, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Rmkane. Biographies of living people are supposed to be held to very strict standards, and that includes the sources that are used. Our policy says that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation; material not meeting this standard may be removed.... [C]ontentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion. This applies whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable".
- I found this Variety article that says Haydn was born in 1969, and I'm going to add it to the article. If you find a better reliable source with respect to Haydn's birthdate, please update the article accordingly. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:51, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction
The following sanction now applies to you:
You are topic-banned (WP:TBAN) from anything related to the Arab-Israeli conflict for six months.
You have been sanctioned for your personal attacks in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jewish Israeli stone throwing.
This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Palestine-Israel articles#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.
You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Sandstein 12:47, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
I note that you declined to comment about this concern after I asked you to. Taking into consideration this reaction, and your repeated problems with conducting yourself appropriately in this topic area, I am of the view that it is to the benefit of the project if you focus your editing on other topic areas for the time being.
