::There are ~250 species listed in the taxobox. There ~100 species in the subgenera. 250 is greater than 100. Removing a taxobox with 250 species and replacing it with a list of ~100 is a deliberate removal of content that compromises the integrity of Wikipedia. If your earlier attempt to replace the species listing was a simple error then this would not contitue vandalism but this does not appear to have been the case. Misquoting the 3R rule after I have reverted your attempt to remove information may constitute malicious behavior. I am debating whether this should be escalated to a level three warning as assuming good faith seems difficult here. Image uploads to en.wiki
It would be nice to upload to commons, as I think that many of the images I am planning to upload will have use on a number of wikis, but I'll be uploading here. Please don't suggest otherwise, as to upload to commons I would have to sign out of en.wiki, sign in to commons with a different user name, even though my user name isn't being used, then sign out of commons, and finally sign back in to en-wiki in order to add the image to an article. No. --Kleopatra (talk) 18:06, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- If you use firefox or a similar browser with tabbed browsing you should be able to be logged in both common and en.wiki at the same time. You can always make your images with the "movetocommons" tag and they will get moved there by someone else if you feel it is too much work.--Kevmin § 18:19, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Digital holographic microscopy article
I noticed that you removed the external links to the available technology providers. I believe it is of general interest for the reader to know from which vendors the technology is available. You objected to list all available vendors under External Links. Do you have any suggestions of how make this information available for the reader in a different way?

Digital holographic microscopy article
Are articles like calculator and typewriter considered to be OK and relevant, regarding references to technology providers? Or should any trademark reference be considered to be advertisement? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Egelberg (talk • contribs) 10:17, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Digital holographic microscopy article
I'm looking for guide lines. Are you saying that other articles cannot serve as a guide line and that common sense is the only guide line available, when it comes to these matters?
According to my common sense, technology providers are valid information in technology articles. Technology is useless without a provider. I tried to keep a very low and neutral profile in just listing all available providers and not to include the providers in the main text as has been done in other popular technology articles, like micro processor, mobile phone and computer. The advertising value of being included in the main text is much higher than just being mentioned in a footnote.

Speedy deletion nomination of Talk:Limu kohu
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Missing taxoboxes
Thanks for your message. I try to do that for every plant or animal article I come across, glad you fixed them! Ruigeroeland (talk) 13:37, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Re:Endemism versus native flora.
Hi, thanks for fixing that! I didn't actually list the plants there, though, I only found those links because they were on that page. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 19:35, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Bot tasks
The best place to ask, if it really needs a bot, is WP:BOTREQ. Many botmeisters will be capable of helping. Alternatively if the number of articles is low (say a few hundred) and the complexity high, there is a place for requesting AWB runs. Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks (Hm, now I visited there and picked up a bot task, so much for a Wikibreak.) Rich Farmbrough, 11:42, 21 October 2010 (UTC).
Question
The one edit I made to the Collenia article should have in no way been taken as a claim of ownership, just a readding of information pertinent to the page. The reference request was a questioning of the removal of "genus" from the article prose and that is all. --Kevmin § 06:40, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't have time to both edit the articles and argue over a single detail, although I am always willing to start with a discussion on the talk page or at wikiproject algae. I'm interested in stromatolites, and that article has been a one sentence stub for 3 years, it seemed as if it needed expansion, and it's a topic that greatly interests me. You could have raised the issue on the talk page, but you chose reversion, and keeping a reference to assert something it doesn't say. That's fine. There are plenty of other articles that I can edit. --Kleopatra (talk) 06:46, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, but at no point did you try to initiate any discussion regarding my edit, so I had no way of knowing what the problem was. Part of wikipedia is working with people that have opinions that may differ with your, or who have references that state are different things from the ones you have. Cooperation is the key to resolving these. I will add a reference for the placement of Collenia as a genus.--Kevmin § 07:09, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's not about opinions. It's just a source of information, and this is too much time expended on this. I added information and a reference, you reverted it because you don't have access to that reference. Cooperation could call for your posting first on the talk page instead of demanding that I do and reverting until then. I was simply interested in expanding the article, nothing more. Let's move on. --Kleopatra (talk) 07:13, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Happy Halloween!
Wilhelmina Will has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the proceeding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!

Commons user name change request
I am requesting a rename on Commons. My current Commons name is WorkSoulsNothing, yes, I used the captcha. WorkSoulsNothing (talk) 06:56, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
I am requesting a rename on Commons. My current Commons name is WorkSoulsNothing.
And, idiotically, whatever name you use on commons then logs you in on en.wikipedia as that name, so having different names on both makes it impossible to edit. Kleopatra (talk) 06:58, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Stubs
Sure - always happy to support anything that will make people's lives easier around here. I have AWB, and can help save you some manual restubbing; beyond that, though, I'm worse than useless, as I know nothing about biology whatsoever, I'm afraid. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 15:40, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well, stub sorting is a quiet area of the project; there aren't many of us who look at it on a regular basis. Lord knows I'm usually doing so many other things that I don't always have time to resort and recategorize. I figure I can help move things along a bit whenever possible. Speaking of which...I've got a couple of proposals I need to make shortly myself... --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 16:00, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Taxoboxes
Thanks for the suggestion. Im just trying to list the species as I find them. The literature is frankly a mess. Wikipedia offers a fantastic opertunity to try to sort out some of the taxonomy of the protists - IMHO anyway.
Eimeria is probably the worst of the genera with its huge numbers of species. The experts have spoken about trying to subdivide the genus but no one to date has had th nerve to try. Its a horribly complex undertaking not helped by the frangmented nature of the literature.
Anopheles is another big genus that I have done some work on. Species total is about 460 and I have most of these on a seperate page (Taxonomy of Anopheles) but this is probably not the best solution of such large genera.
As a single column list these genera go way down the page. For this reason I raised the queston of perhaps a multi column layout. Im all ears for better ideas. DrMicro (talk) 17:36, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words. I can only wish that the genus was subdivided to make it easier for everyone. Hopefully the work on Wikipedia may help in this. Its not easy for anyone to pull a list of these species together let alone diagnostic criteria for them - it took ages to get together what we have on Plasmodium and Eimeria is an even bigger challange. Plasmodium is far from complete but it has become increasingly difficult to find the data for the remaining species. Many thanks for your help. DrMicro (talk) 12:34, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- Please excuse my error here. I have deleted my mistake. This should have put on anothers page. Again my apologies. DrMicro (talk) 09:14, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Stub fixings
Thanks for again fixing stub cats, the Côte d'Ivoire regions ones I linked to the already existing templates. I can probably pull hundreds more of the well-known cities and towns out of the main cat, but I'm only through the A's so far... --Kleopatra (talk) 05:14, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Any help you or anyone from the Côte d'Ivoire wikiproject can give would be fantastic. Personally, I'm coming at this blind -- knowing practically nothing of any African geography. But I found this page a few days ago, which I'm using to fill in these templates. Before that I was using the provided geo-coordinates on some of the pages to apply a pushpin map, from which I would then eyeball-guess which region the town was in.
- Long story short, I would appreciate if someone would periodically go through the templates and the new stub categories and verify that all of the cities are actually in the correct region. I've already seen a few instances where a commune / town was indicated as being in one region, and the geo-coordinates showed otherwise. Hopefully, I'm doing more help than damage in my stumblings. Copyright violation in Mycobacterium
Hi Kleopatra. I noticed your recent edit to Mycobacterium houstonense, because it caused the article to be listed in Category:Taxoboxes with an invalid color (regnum
should read "Bacteria", not "Bacteria". There are further problems, however, in that the article was almost entirely a copyright violation from the source it cited, and I have had to cut most of it away. I don't know how widespread the problem is, but it may be worth checking related articles to see if the problem extends beyond this one article. --Stemonitis (talk) 07:55, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Alga assistance
Hi, Kleopatra. Since you're the algae expert, I was hoping you might take a look at Riedelia (alga). It was an old User:Anybot-generated article from AlgaeBase. The taxonomy is quite confusing here and conflicts with Biddulphiophycidae article. I'll try to find more sources for it, but figured you'd be more capable of correcting the taxonomy than me. Thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 23:47, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- I thought the bot's articles were all deleted?
- Anyway, this anybot article appears to follow AlgaeBase's taxonomy, and that should be acceptable for a wikipedia article, even if it is wrong. Wrong with no basis is not good, but, I think that wrong in fine company is okay with organisms as taxonomically fluid as the algae. If it's a fossil diatom, it probably has a well-established wrong taxonomy in the literature also. I will ook it up, though, and edit the article if necessary. --Kleopatra (talk) 00:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- Much appreciated. I resurrected the article since the dab page Hesperian created (Riedelia) for the multiple genera was going to be deleted (they were all redlinks because the Riedelia (alga) article had been deleted). I figured I could restore it and spruce it up to save the dab page. Didn't know what I was getting into! I couldn't find much primary literature on it, mostly just in lists of Hemiaulaceae genera. I think it's fine enough, I guess. Thanks again. Rkitko (talk) 00:08, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- If you found lists of genera by family for diatoms (generally order is used), then you had good sources for information. I'm comfortable with AlgaeBase taxonomies for wikipedia diatom articles, in spite of some issues with algaebase systematics. Thanks for doing a rescue rather than allowing the deletion to go forward, when one of the algae share a name with one of the plants, having a dab is helpful for the reader even if either article is a stub. --Kleopatra (talk) 00:17, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

- Thanks for the help! And I agree on all points. I was able to find this: Major taxonomic juggling was in this report (large pdf, page 997) where several new combinations were made. Doesn't help with the larger classification problem that I'll leave along since it's consistent with algaebase, but I'll try and fold some information in. Côte d'Ivoire
Category: Populated places in Côte d'Ivoire. Hopefully this will be split by region.♦ Dr. Blofeld 23:01, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Greetings! I see you have recently created one or more new stub templates or categories. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types be proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. This helps to reach consensus about whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Discoveries, where comments are welcome as to any rationale for this stub type. Please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals!
- See WikiProject_Stub_sorting/Proposals/2009/May#Category:Côte d'Ivoire_geography_stubs. --Kleopatra (talk) 05:52, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
