New article
Hello, Keizers! I love your new article San Diego County Administration Center. Do you think you could expand the prose text a little, so that I can nominate it for Did You Know? Thanks! --MelanieN (talk) 17:27, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sure will! I added some photos I took to Commons and then to the article too. Keizers (talk) 18:32, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Great! It is long enough now. I will start thinking about a hook. I may tweak it a little too. You might consider moving the pictures around a little so they don't interrupt the text - maybe place the gallery at the bottom of the page. Also I think the photo of the building itself (nice photos BTW!) should be included in the body of the article; maybe move it up out of the gallery, and put the west entrance detail there instead.--MelanieN (talk) 19:34, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- OK, it's nominated. You can follow the nomination here: Template:Did you know nominations/San Diego County Administration Center. --MelanieN (talk) 18:42, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Whoa - I just discovered it is on the National Register of Historic Places. I didn't realize it earlier, because it is registered under the name San Diego Civic Center. Listed May 16, 1988, listing # 88000554 . We need to add that to the article, prominently, and we may need an additional userbox. Do you want to add this or shall I? Here's an infobox creator tool: http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/infobox.php . --MelanieN (talk) 18:52, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

DYK for San Diego County Administration Center
Hello! Your submission of San Diego County Administration Center at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Hi! Thank you for creating this article which was nominated for DYK, however, I noticed some issues when reviewing it. There appears to be close paraphrasing and a lack of inline citations in some places. If you or the nominator fix these problems, it should be good to go. Thanks! I haven't forgotten about this article, I have just been busy in Real Life. I will definitely nominate it for DYK, it's very deserving. I was going to ask if you wanted to nominate it yourself this time - but it turns out that the DYK process has suddenly gotten a whole lot harder. In theory, and until recently, the usual procedure is that one person reviews it, asks any questions or gives any advice, and eventually approves it. But right now there is a lot of second-guessing going on by the people who promote the hooks to the queue. It can take two or three rounds of re-evaluation before everybody is happy. You can see that happening at the Custom House nomination, and at my Fiesta del Pacifico nomination. So I suggest that you let me handle this one. OK? --MelanieN (talk) 21:08, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- BTW you might want to add an infobox. It would let you get all that birth-and-death information out of the lead sentence. Here's one that could work: Template:Infobox architect. --MelanieN (talk) 01:19, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- I've been working on a DYK. I took the liberty of expanding the article a little since it did not quite meet the length requirements. I'd like to do a DYK based on the earthquake standards, but the only source I have found that connects him to those standards or that law is that one article from the Journal of San Diego History. None of the other histories of the Field Act or Riley Act seem to mention him. I'm hesitant to use it without additional sourcing since the reviewers have gotten so picky lately. I'll keep working on it. --MelanieN (talk) 22:09, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Tijuana Cross-border Terminal
Thank you for replying, I still do not quite understand how Talk works or where I respond. Here or on the other page under rnieders. If the image appeared in a U.S. news paper like the Los Angeles Times and the San Diego Union-Tribune, is that fair use? I was also the project manager of the project and designed part of the cross-border terminal, 3 of the images I do own, the 3 others where given to me while I was involved in the negotiations and were also given to the media for promotion of the project, is that not fair use? Pictures are an essential part of the article, especially original pictures Rnieders (talk) 14:51, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Hello Keizers, you redirected the cross-border terminal background which I wrote to a new page, called cross-border terminal, Tijuana International Airport. I started the project in 1990 and was actually the project manager of the project for GAP in Mexico until 2001, but somehow I must have uploaded the pictures wrong as they are in the process of being deleted. You seem to understand Wikipedia well, the pictures are an integral part of the article but Stefan2 from Sweden says they all must be deleted as they are not fair use, even though they came from public entities, such as the City of San Diego and the San Diego Association of Governments and appeared in news print. Could you direct me into submitting these pictures correctly? It would be greatly appreciated Rnieders (talk) 04:04, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Again, thank you for the reply, I hav read the WP:NFCC several times as well as WP:File copyright tags, images I created I assume I must upload to commons, but I cannot understand how images given to promote the project and used by the Los Angeles Times cannot be uploaded when WP:File copyright tags states "for image freely provided to promote an item, as in a promotional photo in a press packet." The images not owned by me where from promotional material and I was the project manager of the project and presented the project before the U.S. State Department. I cannot understand this Rnieders (talk) 16:18, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
I noticed you redirected the edit I did on the Tijuana International Airport to a new main page title Cross-Border Terminal, Tijuana International Airport, could this be changed to Tijuana Cross-border Terminal, which is what it was always called since the 1990s and in all negotiations. Also when cross-border terminal is Googled right now, it goes first to the Tijuana International Airport. I have also requested that all the files/images I uploaded incorrectly be deleted. I do not know if I can do it or the administrator has to. But I have found all the images which I created for the negotiations and which I own, those I will load to commons. Thank you for your guidance Rnieders (talk) 13:11, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for all your help, I dug out my old files and found replacement images which I own so that there is no issue about copyrights. They were all in Spanish and my disks from 1990-3 tried to convert them to word 2010, no success, had to recreate everything. Images are important to understanding the article. I also forgot a few items that have to be added to both the history of the airport and article, minor and short, just a couple of sentences. I spent a lot of time with Gilberto Valenzuela who as Minister of Public Works 1964-1970, not only did Mexico Olympics but also rebuilt the Tijuana airport and changed the runway orientation from 10-28 to 09-27 due to an incident at the inauguration of the Friendship Dam in Texas, Valenzuela and my godfather Octavio Vejar Vazquez were very close friends, and that is why I had so much access to people in this process, but people pass on and a new generation comes and forgets commitments. Thank you for all your help and all the best Rnieders (talk) 20:20, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
As for the opening of the crossing, they are grading on the U.S. side and with performance bonds, that means they will be done within a year, I was suppose to be the project manager, helped Sam Zell's people and the Mexican investors secure the land and gave them all the information, 20 years worth of work, they hired the guy I trained and the son-in-law of one of the partners (Laura) is also now running the project. That is life Rnieders (talk) 20:27, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Keizer. All the old pictures were deleted from the article and new ones were uploaded yesterday, all of which I created for promoting the Tijuana cross-border terminal, plus I corrected and added a few more things to the article's time line. Thnk you for your help. Rnieders (talk) 17:32, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello Keizer, there were some comments which I did not quite understand but it seems you corrected them. You know how to write articles, I do not, still confused by the protocols. Thank you for your help Rnieders (talk) 18:31, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

South Coast Plaza–John Wayne Airport edge city
Hello Keizers, I missed the discussion regarding this move, could you provide the link? I would also like to see the discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities for this new type of entity. Cheers, Fettlemap (talk) 00:21, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- Neither is required per se, Fettlemap, do you have an issue with the enhancement or with the idea of having an entry for an edge city? Keizers (talk) 00:29, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- I appreciate all the improvements you have made to numerous geographic articles. We certainly need more people willing to do that. That is not the issue here. My concern is that the article on a common place name has been written over with a term from an academic work. The guidelines are clear about using commonly recognizable names for place name articles. The title is South Coast Plaza–John Wayne Airport edge city is not a common place name per these Wikipedia standards and includes a description edge city which is not included in place name article titles but in the text (capital city, port city, unincorporated community, etc). Since you have done a lot of editing in the past couple days to write a new and different article under the new title, this might be fine for an article on an academic subject. We can split it apart. I can recreate the [March 2019 version] for the common place name South Coast Metro and have them write over the redirect. The other option is just to change the name back and the scholarly name for the area becomes a section of the South Coast Metro article. Let me know your preference in resolving this Thanks, Fettlemap (talk) 23:19, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Downtown Los Angeles
Thanks for the work you do on this topic!!! I especially like the Victorian Downtown page. I am related to one man who was president of the City Council in 1889-90 and worked in the City Hall, and who was president of the California Bank (2nd and Braodway) in the early 1980s, and who, as part of a syndicate, purchased the entire block bounded by 7th, Broadway, 6th, and Hill Streets. He purchased three lots, sold two (dang), and built a building on Broadway just north of 7th Street. In the early 1900's, the Lankershims and my relative leased their three lots to someone else (I forget who), and a very large building was built on the corner, one that became Bullock's original building. It's kind of neat to have some (long-ago) connections to this history! I focus (currently) on Los Angeles transportation history, and I'm (very slowly) building the Los Angeles Railway article into somehthing that represents more of its history. I must say it's great to find descriptions of the area where great-great-grandpa lived and worked. 1951bfrj (talk) 01:32, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the complement. It's been a while since I worked on it, it was an intense effort for about a year. I also did my own site victoriandtla277421332.wordpress.com but it's mostly the same content. I always browsed here and there about the pre-1920 history, but became frustrated I couldn't remember what was where, and during what time period. So I decided to create that. Block by block and decade by decade. The real clincher was when I realized that the ENTIRE downtown of 1910 or earlier, had been completely razed to the ground, mostly for the Civic Center and other government buildings, with the exception of the Plaza area, and a handful of buildings along 3rd. I felt like I had discovered a lost city! Keizers (talk) 05:47, 18 April 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled
Hi Keizers. I'm really sorry, but I've had to remove the autopatrolled from your account. I'm concerned about sourcing and copyright issues, and would ask that you do you best to be far more conscious of both. Sources need to match the content and they need to be present. And to avoid copyright issues you need to fully rewrite sentences rather than just making minor changes. Of course, this does not mean that you will have any difficulty creating new articles as you so often do. - Bilby (talk) 08:47, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Ok thanks, point taken. I admit I do sometimes not take the time to make an exact match of new text with the source in each case, though I am good about including all the sources somewhere in my edits, usually one source applies to several passages/edits. Maybe if I include the quote field in the cite template the connection will always be clear. Rewriting text is just a matter of taking the time and care. The alleged copyvio on a photo that I uploaded to Commons: I cannot obtain written permission from the source so I’ve re-uploaded it to Wikipedia as fair use since it’s a point of discussion (or will be once I get the exact source quote to match the text and if the text “stands”. How long does removal of autopatrolled last and how do I re-obtain that status? Thanks Keizers (talk) 13:13, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bilby:I checked and the quote about "strategic weapon" was indeed in the source I provided but that source was in Portuguese, I provided the quote field with the text that supports the statementts including translation to English. Hope that helps.19:39, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Keizers. I'm afraid the new source didn't help either. The quote you used was "12 years ago, Aliza was presented as the spokesperson for the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) in a seminar entitled 'New media as a strategic weapon')", but what you wrote was "who referred to social media as a 'strategic weapon'". Originally you gave a link to the youtube recording of her speech, and she never uses the "strategic weapon" phrase. The event she is speaking at uses that phrase, but she doesn't.
- However, that's not really my main concern. In terms of copyright, to give you some examples of why I am worried:
- You wrote "Heinrich is host of TIJ Talks for the show Investigative Journal, which provides in-depth analyses of regional conflicts and conducts original investigations into issues of public interest, spanning topics like counterterrorism, governance, press freedom, and migration. Heinrich previously served as a parliamentary assistant at the German Bundestag in Berlin." while the source reads "She is the host of 'TIJ Talks' for the Investigative Journal which provides in-depth analysis of regional conflicts and original investigations into matters of public interest such as counterterrorism, governance, press freedom and migration. Tal worked as parliamentary assistant at the German Bundestag in Berlin."
- "Games began publication of the UK books magazine Booklaunch in the autumn of 2018 and off the back of it started the publishing house EnvelopeBooks two years later.", vs the original "I began publication of the UK books magazine Booklaunch in the autumn of 2018 and off the back of it started the publishing house EnvelopeBooks two years later"
- "Stephen Games is a designer, publisher and award-winning architectural journalist, formerly with The Guardian, BBC and The Independent. Until Spring 2018, he served as a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, consistently raising questions about its reluctance to address challenging issues concerning Israel." The source reads: "Stephen Games is a designer, publisher and award-winning architectural journalist, formerly with the Guardian, BBC and Independent. He was until Spring 2018 a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, habitually questioning its unwillingness to raise difficult questions about Israel".
- You have slightly changed the phrasing, but not enough to get around copyright concerns, as the bulk of what you wrote was copied from the source. - Bilby (talk) 00:27, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi, several footnotes are broken, as you see by red color in the "refereences" section. In my experience this happens when you copy a chunk of text from another wikipedia article which has references defined in the non-copied part of the orifial article.
If you did so, please read the instructions in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. it is surely {{tl;dr}. I am using the template :Copied. I put {{copied|from=SourcePage|to=DestPage}} it top part of talk pages Talk:SourcePage and Talk:DestPage, just babove the talk sections. I also put it into edit summary of SestPage, as well as of SourcePage, if I move text from Source to Dest, rather than copy. (I hope you know Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V trick not to type the template text 3 times :-) - Altenmann >talk 01:41, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
Contentious topics notice
You have recently made edits related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. This is a standard message to inform you that articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. Hello, Keizers,
You've clearly done your homework with this nomination but it is only a day old and I see you repeating similar comments to different editors who object to your proposal. Please do not BLUDGEON the process. If you find yourself making the same argument to everyone who holds a different opinion than yours, it could become disruptive editing which would be unfortunate because I think that this is an important discussion to happen. In fact, please do not feel compelled to respond to every participant or it could discourage editors from offering their point-of-view. Thank you for putting together such a thoughtful proposal. Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons. This is further discussed at Talk:UNRWA_October_7_controversy#Merge_proposal:_Wall_Street_Journal_UNRWA_article_controversy and per WP:BLPUNDEL, I encourage you to revert the recent attempt to add the similar content that has been disputed in other articles, and gain consensus before adding it again. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 17:00, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Beccaynr:, it would be great if you could share specifically what information you consider poorly referenced. My intention is to describe a significant journalism and media controversy, as well as the topics of dicussion in the global media as part of that controversy. The intention is not to WP:SYNTH myself, and I have added some content trying to achieve that end, noting that the global media bringing up the topic did not reach a definitive conclusion about personal relationships influencing a WSJ author's alleged slant. However to suppress the information about the controversy would be censorship, and there may be pressure for it from editors who might be pro-Israeli. One editor in particular, is adamant about removing even basic facts, and has gone to great lengths to remove them, even inventing a policy that each RS must be about the topic of the article, as opposed to being a RS for the statement being supported (e.g. a former job). We need to look at the topic of discussion and how well supported the statements in the article are, and we should not assume that just because one or two editors have made repeated deletions of simply facts, that these were justified either by logic or even that the policy with which they justified the removals, exists. Look forward to a healthy discussion, if necessary. Thanks! Keizers (talk) 17:20, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- Keizers, you were warned by ScottishFinnishRadish at 17:34, 7 March 2024 (UTC) [1] about WP:BATTLEGROUND and WP:RGW and indicated you understood in a reply on 17:59, 7 March 2024 (UTC) [2]. As an fyi, I updated my comment at the Merge proposal since first posting here and also opened a section at Talk:Wall_Street_Journal_UNRWA_article_controversy#WP:BLPUNDEL. From my view, between the preceding AfD discussion, various article talk page discussions, as well as various edits with edit summaries that include links to various policies and guidelines, substantial policy- and guideline-based explanation has already been set forth to articulate good-faith BLP policy objections related to what appears to be poorly-sourced and sensationalized content about living people. So according to BLP policy, it appears consensus should first be obtained about whether and how to add the disputed contentious content to any article. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 19:26, 8 March 2024 (UTC) Beccaynr (talk) 19:26, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Referring to WP:BATTLEGROUND is about my approach to the issue, so I don't think it's directly relevant to asking for a definition of what specifically is poorly sourced, and WP:RGW again is a theme, as opposed to actually specifying what is "poorly sourced" beyond the opinion of one particular editor who invents RS "policies". I look forward to engaging at Talk:Wall_Street_Journal_UNRWA_article_controversy#WP:BLPUNDEL where we can be specific about the details! Thanks! Keizers (talk) 20:05, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

- Hi Keizers, I noticed after I added a comment about BLP issues to the merge proposal discussion [3], you edited an article I have declared a COI on my userpage (close family member), to add Jewish-related category tags [4], [5]. I mention this because in the Aliza Landes article, some of your edits had prominently included content focused on Landes' father [6], and there has been discussion at Talk:UNRWA_October_7_controversy#insertion_of_name about your attempt to add content about Landes' father to that article as well. From my view, there have been various discussions about guilt-by-association issues happening and whether this is tolerable in an encyclopedia; at the Landes AfD, you also made comments that have not been struck, directed at another editor, e.g.
non-stop removals by you and another editor who appear to have a political agenda to remove any content which might cast a light on the influence of the Israeli State in the US press, however I do not accuse you of that as I don't know exactly what your motivation is.
Anyway, the category edits feel a bit odd in context, although I assume you reviewed the article and noticed categories that could be added. I am mentioning this as something to consider for future reference - when you have been adding content that has been disputed in articles, and making comments that seem to suggest editors disputing the content may have a 'political agenda' or are 'agents', it may not be the best look to make such edits to an unrelated article that an editor likely has watchlisted. Perhaps Drmies can better explain. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 22:03, 8 March 2024 (UTC)- @Beccaynr:, yeah you are right about looking bad, I didn't think too much of it, because I have recently been categorizing pro-Palestinian activists and that category - logically due to the relationships between the diaspora, Israel and Palestinians - includes distinctions for Jewish activists (Category:Jewish activists for Palestinian solidarity and subcategories) - of which FWIW, I am one. and also FWIW it was just cool to see how many Jewish activists there actually *were*. I literally was just in "categorization" autopilot and knew there were more granular categories. As for the one editor, I do believe he has a non-stop personal agenda and the agents comment was just a bit of humor. Boy you don't miss a thing )). Keizers (talk) 22:20, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- Your description of your fellow editors appears to be based on a desire not to listen to what has been being said. At this point, you keep creating new articles that seem to have the point of carrying the same material that he not gotten support not just from me and some other editor, but from anyone else involved in the articles or the deletion discussions surrounding them. If you're going to try to cast me as simply some sort of pro-Israel water, you're going to have trouble doing that with the record of my edits; to the best of my recollection, my other edits regarding Israel/Palestine matters in the past year have been removing unsourced or poorly sourced claims of "antisemitism" on the pages of celebrities who voiced some form of support for the Palestinian people, removing claims of something being a "terrorist" attack against Israel without proper sourcing, and removing an event from being an attack on Israelis when no Israelis were harmed. My ongoing problem with the same material you've been trying to place on at least four pages now is with that material. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 23:05, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Media coverage of the Arab–Palestinian conflict
Hello Keizers,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Media coverage of the Arab–Palestinian conflict for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.
If you don't want Media coverage of the Arab–Palestinian conflict to be deleted, you can , but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
