Coma ergo comma
Fa Chrissake, illuminate me about that comma, uvverwise, I'm not going to sleep tonight:) Or just fix it kindly. I might add that I can link to a wonderful example of at sight reverting, if you are curious. [1] [2] and the discussion that followed, here, which evoked a 'for fuck's sake' on my part over stalling, and the immediate redress of 'be civil', when there is no trace of civility in the thread or the reverts! History! (and I'm somewhat history myself). Regards.Nishidani (talk) 12:54, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, Nishidani. I wasn't referring to your statements, mind (I don't find it very kind or civil to correct another editor's grammar, especially given the international nature of Wikipedia and the prevalence of errors with mobile device keyboards), but the grammatical error is in the open letter to the Foundation (which should be, of course, unblemished by error in tone or grammar), which, as a nonrestrictive adjective clause (if I recall what I was taught), could read as follows:
The ban itself was actioned using a recently-introduced T&S process for local, time-limited bans
,which, although announced in T&S’ 2018–2019 Annual Plan, was not adequately communicated to the English Wikipedia community, and not subject to any form of community consultation. - I'm sorry if I caused you any confusion or distress; I sure didn't mean to: I was unclear in my response about what I was discussing (which is what I get for posting immediately after waking up). All in all, it's a slight error, and there are multiple ways of resolving it (for example, another comma where I placed it, while keeping the former comma, too), but I couldn't help but notice it in an otherwise flawless statement. (I may have some quibbles regarding the closing paragraph, too, but I've already said way too much.) Hope you're well, Nishidani, and, as always, thank you for your candid and much-needed insight. —Javert2113 (Siarad.|¤) 13:13, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
- In short, this wasn't about you (and I really do apologize if you felt I was speaking to you), but the open letter. There, one comma is needed to separate off the "which", regardless of other commas. —Javert2113 (Siarad.|¤) 13:15, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

- A request for comment seeking to alleviate pressures on the request an account (ACC) process proposes either raising the account creation limit for extended confirmed editors or granting the account creator permission on request to new ACC tool users.
- In a related matter, the account throttle has been restored to six creations per day as the mitigation activity completed.
- The scope of CSD criterion G8 has been tightened such that the only redirects that it now applies to are those which target non-existent pages.
- The scope of CSD criterion G14 has been expanded slightly to include orphan "Foo (disambiguation)" redirects that target pages that are not disambiguation pages or pages that perform a disambiguation-like function (such as set index articles or lists).
- A request for comment seeks to determine whether Wikipedia:Office actions should be a policy page or an information page.
- The Wikimedia Foundation's Community health initiative plans to design and build a new user reporting system to make it easier for people experiencing harassment and other forms of abuse to provide accurate information to the appropriate channel for action to be taken. Community feedback is invited.
- In February 2019, the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) changed its office actions policy to include temporary and project-specific bans. The WMF exercised this new ability for the first time on the English Wikipedia on 10 June 2019 to temporarily ban and desysop Fram. This action has resulted in significant community discussion, a request for arbitration (permalink), and, either directly or indirectly, the resignations of numerous administrators and functionaries. The WMF Board of Trustees is aware of the situation, and discussions continue on a statement and a way forward. The Arbitration Committee has sent an open letter to the WMF Board.
