:See WP:ACC and WP:ACCGUIDE for the internal details. Basically, it's a team of users that reviews account requests and creates accounts for people who are unable to do so on the regular login/create account page. However, if you are thinking of joining, I would wait, because there's very little room for mistakes, and a pretty good amount of experience onwiki is desired. <span style="font-family:Georgia;font-size:80%;">/<span style="color:#000;">ƒETCH</span><span style="color:#000;">COMMS</span><span style="color:#000;">/</span></span> 02:41, 28 October 2010 (UTC) |

I can only hope, for the benefit of the encyclopedia, that we will one day make a return to the open, relaxed, and supportive environment that was once an integral part of Wikipedia. Fastily (talk · contribs)

John Huchra
Quote from New York Post obituary:
John Huchra, a man who loved telescopes and whose pioneering maps of a bubbly universe challenged notions of how the galaxies were born, died on Friday at his home in Lexington, Mass. He was 61.
John P. Huchra was an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
The cause was a heart attack, his wife, Rebecca M. Henderson, said.
Dr. Huchra (pronounced HUCK-rah) was an enthusiastic observer, logging as many as 130 nights a year at telescopes around the world. He was gregarious as well, bringing home students for Thanksgiving and holding a leadership role or membership in virtually every important body related to astronomy, including the American Astronomical Society, of which he had been president.
“His passing has upset more of us than I remember for any other astronomer,” said Tod Lauer, an astronomer at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory in Tucson. Rusted AutoParts (talk) 20:23 14 October 2010 (UTC)

GLOO reversion on Ozone depletion?
Why the reversion of Eli Rabbet's edit on Ozone depletion? It seemed fine — well sourced... RDBrown (talk) 23:22, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Gotta tell you, that that bit about the ClO dimer is a furor that was and no longer is. Today it has no place in the ozone article with three refutations of the original Sander lab result. So yes, please tell everyone why you reverted my edit with no stated grounds Eli Rabett (talk) 00:56, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
The Beginning
I have another question. When can be article for album The Beginning be created? I understand what you said about singles, but what about albums? There are/were some albums that had articles, and those albums weren't released yet. So my question is can I create article for album The Beginning, or should I make in my 'Userspace draft'?ArmedRadar2307 (talk) 18:53, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Cigar band
![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/Ambox_notice.png)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Cigar band. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Cigars. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Cigars - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding hang on
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. 22:56, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

You should find me another random city to work on. I'll never get the inspiration unless I get someone to tell me to do it. :P SilverserenC 03:07, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Article of the month – Alan Kulwicki, selected as a good article
Alan Dennis Kulwicki (December 14, 1954 – April 1, 1993), nicknamed "Special K" and the "Polish Prince", was an American NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series) racecar driver. He started racing at local short tracks in Wisconsin before moving up to regional stock car touring series. Kulwicki arrived at NASCAR, the highest and most expensive level of stock car racing in the United States, with no sponsor, a limited budget, and only a racecar and a borrowed pickup truck. Despite starting with meager equipment and finances, he earned the 1986 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award over drivers racing for well-funded teams. After Kulwicki won his first race at Phoenix International Raceway, he debuted what would become his trademark "Polish Victory Lap". Kulwicki won the 1992 Winston Cup championship by what was then the closest margin in NASCAR history. He died early in 1993 in a light aircraft accident, and was unable to defend his championship. He has been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. Kulwicki was known for being a perfectionist and doing things his own way. An engineer by trade, his scientific approach to NASCAR racing inspires the way teams are now run. Despite lucrative offers from top car owners, he insisted on driving for his own race team, AK Racing, during most of his NASCAR career. Described by his publicist as "a real hard type of person to get to know", he remained a bachelor throughout his life. (More...) | |

Further to your tagging of the DLA Piper article as being 'written like an advertisement' I would be grateful if you could explain exactly what your issues are with the article. I should state that I have NO connection with DLA Piper whatsoever and made a lot of improving edits to the page which, in my view, have made it a lot more factual, cited and neutral e.g. deleting a deal list. On reflection I am happy to make the following edits to make the page more encyclopedic:
- delete the 'Slogan'
- delete those awards and rankings which are uncited
However I am strongly opposed to the deletion of the list of offices, which is encyclopedic, factual, cited and consistent with the articles for many other law firms, including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Baker & McKenzie, Jones Day, Gide Loyrette Nouel, K&L Gates, Linklaters and Greenberg Traurig.Rangoon11 (talk) 16:00, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
