Hi ITBF. Thank you for your kind words on my talk page earlier this year regarding my work on the shadow ministry articles. They were much appreciated. I wanted to bring to your attention that an article that I created under that project, "Frontbench of Ben Chifley" has been nominated for deletion. I was wondering if you would be able to add your perspective to the discussion. DYK for Donald Mackintosh (shooter)
On 27 December 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Donald Mackintosh (shooter), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Donald Mackintosh (shooter). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Donald Mackintosh (shooter)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Edmund Barton on OTD
Hi and thanks for adding Edmund Barton to Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/January 7 for his 100th birthday the 100th anniversary of his death. However, that article normally appears along with Samuel Griffith and Richard O'Connor on October 5 (the date of their appointments to the High Court of Australia), which would make him ineligible for inclusion on his birthday. We could of course make the exception but that would mean his regular blurb could not be featured this year, as articles are supposed to only get one bold appearance per year. So I'm going to take him out, but if you feel that the birthday is more important than the high court blurb, then let me know and we can do it the second way. —howcheng {chat} 18:46, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Howcheng, thanks for the heads-up. I would be inclined towards running Barton's death rather than the court blurb this year, given the significance of the anniversary. It appears the October 5 blurb ran in both 2016 and 2017, and there are several other blurbs which are eligible for that date. However, if you feel that you'd have that blurb "up your sleeve" then I'm happy for you to go that route. My gut feel is that Australia/ns are probably over-represented in blurbs and don't feature as often in the births/deaths section, if that makes a difference. Reminder to present your sources
Hi, in regards to your edit in the Sun Yang article. Not sure if you are knowingly vandalising or just unaware. But you need to provide sources for your info. You wrote that both Sun and the security guard destroyed a single vial with their hammers. A couple of guys on just one vial? Regardless in the ABC article, it clearly stated a security guard destroyed the vial with a hammer. Not Sun. Past tabloid media have been incorrectly spinning the story so use the more updated and authoritive sources in the future. Cheers. https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2019-07-22/mack-horton-sun-yang-feud-swimming-world-championships/11334782?pfmredir=sm§ion=sport 49.195.32.181 (talk) 14:05, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
- What a charming message. I didn't add any new content to the article, I reinstated the existing wording which someone had erased and replaced with the word "incident" - not very helpful to the reader. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 16:44, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

Chris Watson image - 1906 Australian federal election
Hi, thanks for your edits to 1906 Australian federal election, including using File:Chris Watson 1904 (b&w).jpg. Its a nice photo & closely cropped, but it does make him look a bit odd with Deakin & Reid looking at the reader whilst Watson looks off otside the page. Given its on the right hand side of the page, perhaps it would work better if flipped on the verticle axis so he is looking toward the page. Cheers --Find bruce (talk) 03:13, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Knowles
Haven't started on Sue Knowles - I'd put her in the too-hard basket for right now because she's a fairly notable person to have a one-line article and I knew I was going to have a ton of material to sift through to do a decent job the way I do things. I'd love it if you decided to have a crack instead. You might be right that it could be the last one-liner but there's a whole ton of two-liners left, alas. Thank you for the excellent photograph. I remember asking the main editor of the article – the greatly missed Brianboulton – why he had chosen a picture of Harpo Marx for the top of the page. He didn't quarrel with my description, and I think he would have been pleased by your splendid replacement. Tim riley talk 12:28, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Tim. It's an excellent article - I had been aware of Brian but I did not realise how prolific he was. Just one small piece in his overall legacy. I've found that the image choice in many older featured articles, even older articles in general, hasn't always kept pace with the availability of images. In the time since someone first considered which image to use, there has often been an accumulation of images uploaded to Commons and you sometimes have half a dozen striking replacements to choose from. Ivar the Boneful could you please explain to me why you reverted my edits on Frank Lowy?
This material is cited, Frank lowy's connection to the Institute_for_National_Security_Studies_(Israel) is well documented. As an editor you are required to justify removal of content- simply claiming it is vandalism is not a valid reason for deletion.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Danish people of Paraguayan descent
A tag has been placed on Category:Danish people of Paraguayan descent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. WesternAtlanticCentral (talk) 17:36, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with the method of suicide you included in this edit to List of suicides. As you've now accumulated over 17,000 edits since editing here since 2017, you should know by now that this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy that requires that the material to be accompanied by inline citations of reliable, verifiable sources. I was looking through users that have commented on the WikiProject Deletion sorting/Texas page and I came across your name. I'm trying to find people to help me vote to keep the article Universal Coin & Bullion. See link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Universal_Coin_%26_Bullion If you feel it is Keep could you comment with a Keep and explain why you believe it is a keep? If you believe it is to be deleted then don't comment at all because currently it may get deleted anyway due to there being enough delete comments and I wanted to at least give it a chance before it is deleted.--Excel23

MOS:SIR
Please read Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biography#MOS:SIR: I have already mentioned you there and your arguments have been dismissed by others as a misinterpretation of the wikiwide MOS and violation of WP:OWN. Ignoring the MOS is disruptive and will be reported to ANI. --Omnipaedista (talk) 11:45, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- User:Omnipaedista. You've linked to a talk section that doesn't exist. Maybe you should take a look at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biography#Infoboxes and MOS:HONORIFIC - "One exception noted is: Sir, Dame, Lord and Lady are included in the initial reference and infobox heading.". Go ahead and report me, but the fact that you're getting reverted multiple times on the same article by multiple users [1] would suggest that you are the one that is being disruptive, has WP:OWN issues and is misunderstanding the MOS. I will continue to revert any of these that come up on my watchlist. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 06:42, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
- MOS:HONORIFIC's "Infobox heading" is ambiguous. That is why MOS:SIR clarifies as follows: "The infobox heading includes pre-nominals, name and post-nominals as separate elements." The section was archived by a bot a few hours before I posted here; now you can find it in the following link: Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biography/2021 archive. --Omnipaedista (talk) 10:25, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Gavan Duffy
Thanks for writing the article on Sir Charles Gavan Duffy. A minor quibble in that you refer to him as Duffy, presumably following the lead of the Australian Dictionary of Biography, whereas I think his surname is actually Gavan Duffy - all of the other references names him as Justice Gavan Duffy, as do the Law Reports, eg Earl v Gallagher [1952 VicLawRp 84]. His grandfather was, as far as I can tell, generally referred to as Duffy, but the same issue arises with his father, in part because the Commonwealth Law Reports referred to him as Duffy as a barrister, and only changing to Gavan Duffy when he was appointed to the High Court. Interested in your views. --Find bruce (talk) 08:04, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- I wondered about that, to be honest I just went with "Duffy" to save the extra typing. I agree, all the contemporary sources referred to Justice Gavan Duffy. Happy if you want to make things consistent across the two. Ivar the Boneful (talk) 13:18, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Patrick Keane. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 20:06, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Minister Bridget McKenzie Wikipedia page
Hi Ivar the Boneful,
Can you please provide me reasoning as to why you reverted all of my changes on the Wikipedia page concerning Minister Bridget McKenzie?
For example, I provided impartial factual details of personal hobbies (e.g. sailing and shooting) and removed unnecessary rumours / information about her private life, only for them to be reverted.
Thanks.
- Hi User:MrMagic1, you might want to review this guide to disclosing conflicts of interest. When someone is changing or removing negatives from a person's article en masse - and vice versa - that is an automatic red flag. Wikipedia maintains a neutral point of view. If you feel the article is overly negative, the solution is not to remove them - assuming they are reasonable and correctly sourced - but to try to find reliably sourced material about McKenzie's other actions and views. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Laurel Hubbard. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You were asked to discuss at the article Talk page your repeated reversion of an edit made by two editors, but instead continued to revert. Please reconsider your recent reversion and instead discuss the issue at the Talk page, with independent and reliable sources. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 16:24, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

Request reason:
A 48-hour block is totally disproportionate, there is no "damage or disruption" to be prevented given the article has settled at the status quo (which I reverted to) and talkpage discussion is ongoing. The only effect this block has is to prevent me from contributing to the talkpage. I am happy to commit to making no further reversions on this page. Decline reason:
Your first block for breaching 3RR was for 24 hours. You are obviously aware of the restriction; blocks are generally of increasing length for subsequent breaches. This block and its length are entirely within Wikipedia norms. You were warned at 16:24. You continued to edit war at 16:41. What did you expect would happen? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 18:06, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Some of your recent edits to Stephen Bishop (cave explorer)
I appreciate your editing attention to the Bishop article but wanted to let you know that I have changed some of your edits and why:
- It has been brought to my attention elsewhere here on Wikipedia and in my research that "enslaver" and its associated words are more-acceptable modern usage instead of the words "slave-owner" & "slave".
- Please see the following for usage of the word "enslaver":
- The work cited for Bishop probably discovering the Northern cavefish (Amblyopsis spelaea) at Mammoth does not mention the cave crayfish at all so I have removed that mention from the article. I was very careful in how I worded that sentence "Bishop is also said to have discovered..." because the most pertinent records of the Cave, when it was run as a business, the records that could proved who exactly visited the Cave and when they visited, so the sourced information that would buttress the chronology of when & how any cave denizens were discovered, exactly who was a guide at a particular tour...almost all of those records were lost in the Mammoth Cave Hotel fire that occurred in 1916. So there is no real proof.
- I am puzzled as to the "double mention" in your one edit summary. I always thought it was proper usage to refer to the animal by its common name and also by its Latin name, especially when referring to the animal in a scientific manner, like the scientific discovery of a species. Using both seems to be accepted Wikipedia usage, as in Bald eagle, when the English name of that animal is mentioned at the beginning of the article and immediately after is the Latin name.
- Re "Cave" or "cave" when referring to Mammoth Cave...that was a conundrum. I finally decided that capitalizing the word made more grammatical sense since the usage in the article seemed to be more akin to a proper name.
Would welcome your thoughts on if the article is now eligible for being in DYK? Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 05:46, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

New Australian politician articles
Hi there, great work on creating articles for incoming politicians in safe seats. I found that all the possible candidates (User:Onetwothreeip/Candidates 2022) who could reasonably become elected in this year's federal election would all be more notable than any existing article with the same name. I was keeping this as a list to move the articles after the election, but you might find this useful before the election. Thanks! Onetwothreeip (talk) 23:14, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Asian Australians in politics
Hi
Asian Australians in politics is substantially different from List of Asian Australian politicians one is meant to be an actual article discussing the political involvement of the Asian Australian diaspora whereas the other is just a list of politicians. Please stop redirecting this page. It may contain similar information on it but It is not a dedicated List. For example 117th United States Congress has a list of the US House of representative on the page and there is a dedicated list List of current members of the United States House of Representatives as well they may contain some of the same information but one is a more broad overview while the other is just a list.
A similar article would be Asian Americans in politics and as for a list List of Asian American politicians or List of Asian Pacific American Democrats. This is not a duplicate article.

47th Parliament of Australia
Hi there,
Over the past few hours, you and SCN 1999 appear to be in the middle of a dispute on the article for the 47th Parliament of Australia. I understand your reasoning for removing the members' list, but both SCN and I spent a significant amount of time formatting that section. I request that you please engage in the discussion on this before blanking it, lest the disagreement escalates into an edit war. I have not undone your second revert; I will ask SCN to refrain from undoing it as well until the dispute is resolved. Thank you.

Alexander Green (executioner)
Just to let you know that I have emailed ADB with the relevant references about Green's later life. Hopefully, his year of death being added to his bio there in due course.--Oronsay (talk) 01:22, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

"templating the regulars"
Hi ITBF. Just so you know, using templates to communicate with experienced editors (as you did here) is usually considered rude (see for example WP:DTR). Perhaps you meant to be rude, but I'm assuming you didn't. Regards, Paul August ☎ 12:32, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- I agree it's pretty pointless, but warning users engaged in edit warring is a prerequisite of a WP:EWN report so there's not a lot of leeway. ITBF (talk) 07:05, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
- You can just write a "Hey, please stop EW-ing at X" message, it still "counts" as warning/notification. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:32, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
Kate Chaney's birthplace

August 2022
Your recent editing history at Scott Morrison shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
And yes, I'm at three reverts as well: please consider me 3rrr warned as well, and ready to discuss on the thread I've started on the talk page. Nick-D (talk) 10:57, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
The content being added is unsourced and incorrect, as repeatedly stated, and should be removed per WP:BLPREMOVE. No idea how this justifies a one-week block. ITBF (talk) 12:01 pm, Today (UTC−4)
Decline reason:
Unsourced is not a 3rr exemption an exemption unless it is contentious content you are removing. This was not. You were told in edit summaries to discuss content on the talk page Still you continued to edit war.
In the event of a content dispute, editors are required to stop reverting, discuss, and seek consensus among editors on the relevant talk page. If discussions reach an impasse, editors can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution.
Had you been right, a discussion would have shown that you were right? No?
Points to ponder:
- Edit warring is wrong even if one is right.
- Any arguments in favor of one's preferred version should be made on the relevant talk page and not in an unblock appeal.
- Calling attention to the faults of others is never a successful strategy; one must address one's own behavior.
To be unblocked, you must affirm an understanding of all of this, and what not to do, and what to do when in a content dispute. Please tell us, in your own words, what it all means. Thanks, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:04, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Frontbench of Ben Chifley
Thank you so much and kind regards. --DilatoryRevolution (talk) 02:14, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
Standard ArbCom discretionary sanctions notice
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
