My sentiments exactly, you'll be missed. Glad it's not permanent. Got a little worried when you poofed with no explanation. Enjoy your summer and come back with stories :p — nathanrdotcom (Got something to say? Say it.) 02:55, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Say it isn't so, fair Hermione! :( You've been one Wikipedia's wisest and kindest editors from my first day editing here, and I do hope that you'll reconsider after a wiki-break. If it helps, I'll wiki wifflebat anything causing you stress. ;) Best wishes always, Xoloz 19:13, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Greetings!
I have been one of main wikipedia contributors working on improving the wikipedia's coverage of issues related to Guantaantmo detainees.
I am trying to clean up some anomalies in the dozen or so previous nominations for deletion that have been filed so far. For two of the discussions the administrators who closed them said that the results had been "no consensus" even though a majority of those voting had voted keep.
I was under the impression that the if an absolute majority of the votes were for keep the result should be recorded as keep.
One of those administrators added editorial comments about the discussion's results when they adjudicated and closed the disucssion for another Guantanamo article.
I would prefer if the administrators who closed the discussions to nominate articles for deletion.not only counted the votes in a manner consistent with policy, but presented the appearance of impartiality.
There is the old aphorism, which I am going to paraphrase as "never attribut to malice that which can be explained by, er, um, a simple mistake."
When you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamil al Banna the normal afd vote result summary didn't make it onto User Talk:Jamil al Banna. I saw that you are on a leave of abscence. This is a very trivial thing, sompared with the other administrators editorializing. But I would like to clean up all the anomalies. When you are back from your leave of absence, would you mind looking into whether that result note could be added? Thanks. I'd appreciate that. And, if you don't think a retroactive note is a good idea, could you drop me a note? Thanks. No rush.
If you are interested in looking into history of the deletion, when you come back from your leave of absence, feel free to take a boo at User:Geo Swan/working/Guantanamo related articles which have been nominated for deletion.
Cheers! -- Geo Swan 08:30, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

You've made a nice start with the Stanton grant article. I apologize for not mentioning before (because I hadn't noticed) the coverage of that story also in the "In the news" draft: User:Cryptic C62/Workspace. Stories often get just a brief treatment there, and only more in a separate article if there's enough content. So you might use Crytic's work as a jumping off point to develop the story further. Cheers!--ragesoss (talk) 18:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for mentioning that. I've expanded the article a little to include some of the content from his sources. I'll do some searching tomorrow morning and see if I can find some more stuff. Hermione1980 23:19, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

when would u suggest trying again?Dcollins52Give me a yell 15:28, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Posting the page again? Well, there's no definite answer for that. Try to find similar lists (say, of other types of games) and pay attention to how they're formatted. (I hate to even point you to this because I'm sure the code is a mess, but List of multiplayer browser games is an example.) Read up on Wikipedia's policies on notability and what Wikipedia is not, and make sure that the list follows those policies. Other than that, it's a judgment call on your part.
- From looking at the deleted revision of your original list, it appears that it has little or no content that is not included elsewhere. If it were me, I would wait until I had more definitive information to include before posting it again. You can start a draft on a user subpage, such as User:Dcollins52/RPGs. Once you've fleshed it out some, then you can ask to get it moved to the mainspace. Hope this helps, Hermione1980 17:22, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- No not posting again, making another new article, like one I would know MORE about than the deleted one. Dcollins52Give me a yell 20:41, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. In that case, whenever you find a subject that interests you that does not have an article (make sure you search for any alternate titles the subject might have), be bold and create it! As long as the subject is verifiable and notable, it shouldn't be a problem. The worst that can happen is it gets deleted. Other than that...I don't know what else to tell you. I'll gladly look over anything you want me to for formatting/copyediting purposes, but there's not much else I can tell you right now. If you want to get more experience beforehand, you can always just do some minor copyediting-type stuff around the wiki. One suggestion I would make: There is a box below the edit box that is labeled "Edit summary". Make sure you describe your edits there - this makes it easier for others to see what you've done. In many cases that would work, the problem is that, until someone checks every single one of the articles that were bot-modified, there's going to be a lot that aren't fixed. It's basically a responsibility issue: I feel Happy-melon should not expect other editors to fix massive problems caused by his bot. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 03:49, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

That made me smile, someone went to the effort of changing the headline level to make my response look better. At times like this, when I wake up having to deal with an ANI report against me, small things like that make the world seem a better place.

Hello there, I apologize to bother you with this as I know you may have no interest in this particular film series, but I am seeking administrator assistance in a dispute over creating an actual page for an upcoming movie in the Halloween film series. The film has a cast ready, has a date to begin production on February 23rd, has a release date already of August 28th, and has a teaser poster as well as new information coming in all across the web about it from the producers. Yet there are two or three editors that are asserting that creating a page for the film violates "rule and guidelines" despite the fact that there are upcoming movies with release dates far beyond this one that have pages of their own. Is this true? Can we not put together a page for this movie when all its elements are already in order and its release date set? I would like an unbiased and unrelated opinion on the subject, so I am turning to you for your opinion and/or approval/disapproval of page creation for this film. Thank you and I apologize for an inconvenience this request may bring you. Horrorfan78 (talk) 03:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- I see you've already been pointed toward the notability guidelines for future films. As far as this particular film/franchise is concerned, I don't have enough knowledge to render an opinion on whether it should be kept, but it needs to be confirmed by reliable sources. I checked the last revision before the article was redirected, and I don't see any links to sources. Unless the only sources available for the movie's existence are print sources as opposed to websites (very unlikely in the era of internet), there isn't enough information about the movie to merit an article. There are no deadlines on Wikipedia; perhaps the best course of action is to back away and wait for more reliable sources to turn up. Having a page be a redirect isn't a bad thing — the page can easily be reverted and improved later. Another point, though, that I would like to bring up is the tone of your messages on User talk:JpGrB. "Sorry man, but screw you" isn't conducive to getting your point across, and it isn't very civil. Calmly discussing the merits of an article, or asking for advice as to how it could be improved, will get you much farther. Hope this helps, Hermione1980 03:42, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Emotional Intelligence Quick Book
Hello,
Please allow me to access the page I was working on last Thursday. I am sorry for trying to recreate it today, you can delete the one I was working on today. Where do I go so I can edit the page? Did I read it right, that if I write the page and it doesn't meet your standards than someone there will rewrite it for me? Talentsmart2 (talk) 20:29, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Okay. The page you were working on is now located at User:Talentsmart2/sandbox. You can edit it there. When you are done writing the article, you can ask for feedback at the Help Desk (or you can leave me another message, if you like). Generally, if an article is close to meeting Wikipedia's standards, someone will generally work on it. Editors generally don't "rewrite" from scratch, though it has been known to be done. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers! Hermione1980 20:41, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
