Write it in your own words
It's great to see more coverage of Welsh topics but please respect the copyright of the National Library of Wales. Much of the text you have added is a straight copy and paste from the Welsh Newspapers Online website. It needs to be reworked so that the content of the Wikipedia articles is in your own words. When there is only a few sentences to work from it's not easy but please make the effort. Nthep (talk) 16:57, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Nthep, Thanks for your message. I just wanted to clarify, that this user, and several others are working with the National Library to create the article stubs for Welsh newspapers. The Library does not wish to claim copyright on the text about these newspapers, and are working to make that more clear on the Newspapers Website. Thanks for your interest! Jason.nlw (talk) 13:14, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Jason.nlw: Thanks for the explanation but without something clearer it won't just be me asking and there will be numerous copyright discussions. The best thing would be to place a copyleft notice on the website pages. Nthep (talk) 13:59, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Nthep: Yes, as I say, I am working with NLW policy makers and Web team to try and incorporate a copyright waver into the this website and other NLW web pages...but as i'm sure you can appreciate these things take time. Thanks Jason.nlw (talk) 08:54, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Jason.nlw: I know (from bitter experience). Although you don't want to enforce copyright, the copyright exists so for the text to be reused the permission needs to exist. Other than the copyleft on the NLW website an alternative would be the process detailed at WP:CONSENT. An email listing all the pages where copyrighted text is used confirming that the text on the relevant NLW pages is freely licenced would suffice. Nthep (talk) 16:51, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 9
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Diana Barham, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Independant (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Thomas Bevan (antiquary)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Thomas Bevan (antiquary) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from wbo.llgc.org.uk/en/s-BEVA-THO-1802.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa (talk) 01:36, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
The same message applies to the following articles:
- Robert Beynon: copied from http://yba.llgc.org.uk/en/s2-BEYN-ROB-1881.html
- Llywelyn Bevan (Independent minister): copied from http://yba.llgc.org.uk/en/s-BEVA-LLY-1661.html
I have removed copyright material from several of your other recent additions. Please stop what you are doing. The Dictionary of Welsh Biography is under copyright, and there's no evidence that you have permission to copy the material to this website. Any further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa (talk) 02:02, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
