Mohan Bhagwat marital status
When I searched for 'Mohan Bhagwat' google suggested a search for 'Mohan Bhagwat wife'. So I added to his page that he is a bachelor. Why is it not-needed? I don't need it myself but it looks like people are searching for that information. And calling it 'unsourced info' shows your lack of knowledge of the subject. Why don't you source info about his being married? Most big names have a section for 'personal life'. In Bhagwat's case there is hardly any personal life, and a separate section is not needed. But one sentence in 'early life' section should not be a problem. Anyway I am adding it back and sourcing it this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.33.195.253 (talk) 07:03, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bob Biswas (movie)
Hello, Fylindfotberserk,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Xx236, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Bob Biswas (movie) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Xx236}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

- @Austronesier: Thanks man. How'z life going? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- All's great thank you. But I'm quite busy with off-wiki writing, so I mostly do just some patrolling here these days. Hope you've been fine the last 4 months. –Austronesier (talk) 08:47, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Austronesier: Nice to know man. I was not well actually. On 13th April, wasn't feeling well (made 3-4 edits). That night I had a severe headache. Next morning, my vision was all blurry. I stopped using my PC for the next 10-12 days as suggested by the doctor. After that I kinda avoided Wikipedia since editing might have caused this. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:13, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- I hope you can find the right balance. Your absence was literally noticeable with the decrease of patrol level for so many pages; but the great job you're doing should never push you beyond the physical stress-level. 500+ edits in two days is a rocket start... –Austronesier (talk) 09:31, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Austronesier: You are right. I got carried away with 7700+ pages in my watchlist. Or the problem may had been with checking each and every every edit when many of the articles were in good hands, like yours. I wonder if I can be that much vigilant now since I've to work a lot more IRL thanks to COVID (no helpers around), plus recently had flu like symptoms, been in a self isolation for the past 12 days (possibly it is nothing). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:52, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Shobana Wikipedia profile
Hello Fylindfotberser,
This is regarding artist Shobana's wikipedia profile. I'm a consultant of her institution and we are in the process of sorting out all the issues related to her social media accounts and wikipedia profile. You mentioned me as an anonymous user who is doing some sort of vandalism. I'm not. We are not. Whatever changes made in the profile is with the consent from the artist. We do not want this matter to be discussed on a public forum and getting unnecessary attention from a lot of people. This is something that is strictly personal for the artist. If the concerned artist do not want to put some information pertaining her in public, then why do you people insist us to go with a public opinion or so. This seems to be really disrespectful. We feel this is something that needs to be taken care of with the help of cyber police or concerned authority. We shall take it up in that way if nothing can be done to rectify this from your or my side. Also, we do not have much expertise in Wiki editing and all..... We wish to do the same correction again on page. If it's again getting rolled back, then will see for further options stated above. Thanks for your understanding.
Regards, Ratz — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ratz wiki (talk • contribs) 19:29, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Ratz wiki: Kindly raise your concerns in the Talk:Sobhana. The information is already in the public platform in the form of news articles, that are used as sources. Just to let you know, Wikipedia do not censor things already available in the public domain. You have to discuss this in the talk page, wait for others to chime in and then seek a consensus. If teh consensus is in support of removing, it will be removed. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:35, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Sir, kindly check the above comments by a user claiming to be the subject's consultant. I asked them to raise the concern in teh talk page and gain consensus, but they seem to be threatening me. Please see the above users attempts at removing content which are already in the public domain (news articles) link. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:45, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
MN Roy
CPI was formed in 1925 December 26 at Kanpur. MN. Roy didn't participate in the foundation conference . So remove him from the names of founders. Shaheed Hemukalani (talk) 09:49, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- So this whole issue is best settled by developing the passage on the 1920-1925 history in the article. The notion that CPI was founded Dec 1925 in Kanpur is one perspective, but hardly the only perspective. Roy is often credited as being a founder of CPI, whether he was present or not in Kanpur is not the main issue. Arguably Roy did much of the ground-work gathering different groups of Indian revolutionaries together in what was to become the CPI. --Soman (talk) 12:52, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Soman: I've to agree with you, besides Roy's name as the founder is present in the article body supported by sources. So it stays IMO as per status qvo. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:57, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
The name mentioned in the founders are who participated in the Kanpur foundation conference MN Roy didn't participate in that conference and he return to india after 1925. And the secretrate of CPI held in 1959 decided that the formation of CPI is Kanpur. Then the party MN Roy formed in Tashkent is only a group like the communist groups in india before 1925 ,formation of CPI. Shaheed Hemukalani (talk) 18:10, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Why are you discussing it in my talk page. Teh names are literally there in the article body for a long time with sources. Discuss there in the article talk page and gain consensus first. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:13, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

- Hmm. I get that sort or behavior occasionally; a page will take many seconds to load, and sometimes I've had changes that refused to save. But right now it seems to be OK. Possibly edits from different parts of the world hit different servers and so it's a localized issue? I guess I would ask on WP:VPT. Cheers, Wham2001 (talk) 09:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

- @Honeybrowneyes: , Famous Birthdays and similar websites like StarUnfolded, CelebsWiki, etc are not considered reliable as per WP:RSN. Find reliable sources like IndianExpress, Tribune, Times of India, The Hindu, etc that mention her DoB explicitly. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:42, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Losing battle
Hey there, re: this, it may be a losing battle. I personally prefer crore, but I'm lazy and don't want to do the mental calculation of converting to millions or billions. That said, it might be difficult to establish a consensus that conflicts with MOS:COMMONALITY. But by all means try if you wish! Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Yeah, it is getting boring. But, unless a user is specifically interested in this, cites commonality or talks about it in the talk page, I'm not letting it change just because of some "General formatting script". I also use that script, but not in film articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:48, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

Yupp...but he's bloked again thanks to admin & u too.....yr i never had idea that nowadays also people take caste so seriously😯Heba Aisha (talk) 10:44, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Heba Aisha: That's because South Asians are backward. "Casteism" existed in throughout the world, but others were able to let go of it. Now we have classism, that also exists in India, more than casteism in urban regions. Even after converting to religions like Islam and Christianity which denounce casteism, people can't let of of their caste identity. Even Sikhs have major casteist problems. On a genetic level, higher and lower castes are not much different. All derive from same admixture components, with some differences in values, but higher castes and some specific castes need to behave as if they are from central Asia and lower castes behave as if they are some aboriginal people. Truth is the major part of the DNA of all South Asian castes is derived from ancient Indus Valley people. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:01, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

- (talk page watcher) @HipHopAkshay: please see the guideline, WP:ELMIN, that Fylindfotberserk referred to in his edit summary. You can find it here. In general Wikipedia practice is to minimize the number of external links that an article has. The social media accounts that you are linking to are prominently linked from the top of the official website; hence we don't need to include them in the article. If you think that there should be an exception to the general practice for this particular article please go to Talk:Bohemia (rapper) and argue for it there. You have to unnecessarily scroll a lot, and it takes up unnecessary space. Not to mention, most of the articles use horizontal format which makes it the preferred type.
- This is wrong since it is introducing Devanagri script in the lead, which contravenes our WP:NOINDICSCRIPT policy. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:25, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: "Is there any consensus for this?" Err.. no, I'm yet to find out how find out what the community agrees upon.
Also, Thanks for telling me about the use of Devanagiri in opening paragraphs

Disruptive new user
Hi, can you keep a look at the edits of Onantory007, a new user who seems hell bent on anachronistically adding Bangladesh/Bangladeshi to Indian bio articles to anyone who happened to be born in territories in present-day Bangladesh. Has WP:POVPUSHed to add birth places in lead sentences in violation of MOS:BIO (to push Bangladesh in the lead), has added ethnicities in violation of WP:ETHNICITY and native scripts in violation of WP:INDICSCRIPTS. Please keep an eye here appears to be highly disruptive. Gotitbro (talk) 04:36, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Gotitbro: All these POV pushers from neighbouring countries I tell you. And there are some from Canada/UK. I have to revert IP edits that change "Indian" to "Punjabi" in Punjabi-language singer/actor articles often. I'll keep an eye. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:19, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Golden Temple
Fylindfotberserk, I do not understand why you reverted on Golden Temple. What you have added back is unsourced and what you have taken out is sourced. Can you provide the source, page number and the quote that supports what you have reinstated ? JoyceGW1 (talk) 20:55, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- @JoyceGW1: Thanks for communicating. Since you made changes to the consensus version without discussion, I reverted it. As for the sources, I was unable to check the some of those involved because of technical issues. I opened a discussion there asking the parties involved that helped to reach to the consensus version. Kindly wait for them to weigh in and discuss it there. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:46, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Hindkowans
Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, with your background in helping to improve South Asian ethnic group-related articles, I'd appreciate if you could take the time to examine the situation here and continue to offer your comments. I will be busy this month and would be grateful if you could keep an eye on things. Thanks, AnupamTalk 15:14, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Anupam: Thanks for notifying me. I'll try to check that article every now and then. Though I've quite a lot of pending work to complete here in Wikipedia, I was out for 4 months. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Good faith edits on Barak Valley
I included some minority languages spoken in Barak Valley, but you deleted them. I am a native of Barak valley and those languages are actually spoken there. Without including the minority languages, the information will be incomplete and it will be unfair. So I will try to find the correct reference. If you find the correct reference and add those languages I will be grateful. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 07:14, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Truthfulsoldier: Well I agree with, but Wikipedia strives for completeness rather fairness. I'll try to add census data and arrange the languages accordingly. Thanks for communicating. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:24, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for addressing my concern. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 08:07, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Another thing is that Sylheti is actually spoken by the majority in Barak valley but it is considered as a dialect of Bengali by most people, although a few linguists also consider it to be a separate language. I as a native speaker of Sylheti can attest to the fact Standard Bengali is limited to formal and official purposes only. Sylheti may be under reported or may be unreported in census data. The situation is similar to Hindi vs Bhojpuri, Hindi vs Awadhi, etc. The 'big' languages or the Standard languages/Prestige dialects like Standard Hindi, Standard Bengali, Assamese etc. are often over represented in census data due to Socio-Political reasons. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 08:18, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Census typically goes by what the speakers self-identify as. While Hindi is used as an umbrella term, sub languages/dialects are covered in the census like Awadhi, Magahi, Haryanvi, etc. Obviously many Awadhis or Haryanvis would say that Standard Hindi is their mother tongue. But, in the case of Sylheti, census doesn't make any distinction of the sort, despite many linguist categorizes it and Chittagonian as separate languages. Instead, we have Hajong and Rajbanshi as specific sub-languages/dialects within Bengali. In the case of Assamese, many Kachari groups say that they speak Assamese as native tongue which is not the case, seems liek only those people from autonomous regions like Bodoland identify as Bodo speakers - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:35, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Jesse Ventura
WWE is not always the most reliable source especially when it comes to a guy who left the company 30 years ago like Ventura. Also I could cite actual WWF matches from the 80's on YouTube where they announced him 6'4" 270 lbs range. But I won't make a big deal of it and leave it as is. Just letting you know I was trying to cross reference and make his billed stats as accurate as possible. Hunterb212 (talk) 17:42, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Hunterb212: I get it. But the section is for "billed heights and weights". So it is better to source from the company website he wrestled in. We've done in in all retired and semi-retired wrestlers' articles like Kane, etc. If you have a video from a verified YouTube channel that mentions his stats "clearly", you can use that IMO. However do not use Cagematch or other sites deemed unreliable for this specific purpose. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:50, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Only problem with the videos on YouTube is back in those days they only announced weight not height. So not really able to verify the height but most sources say 6'4" other than WWE. Like I said, not a big deal though, I will leave it as is I just believe WWE may have a typo for his stats on their website. Hunterb212 (talk) 18:15, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Hunterb212: There was a time, possibly 90s, when they would show a caption with both height and weight. I remember Adam Bomb's 6' 6'" 292 lbs, I saw as a kid. I'll keep an eye if WWE.com ever updates that . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Question regarding metadata
@Fylindfotberserk: Good day, I was curious about how Wikipedia deals with the metadata of files that have been uploaded to the site. I know that most websites these days remove metadata to cloak the origins of the file however I was unsure if Wikipedia did the same given its open source nature. Could you clarify this for me? Prolix 💬 09:51, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Prolix: I beleive it is quite open. As far as images are concerned, they can be backtracked to the source. You can visit tehse links for more info. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:01, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Fylindfotberserk, Thanks for the info. The links however don't have exactly what I was looking for. I'll keep looking Prolix 💬 10:13, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Requesting you to take a look at the following edit:
Kindly take a look at this edit on the Andhra Pradesh article. The user seems to have a past history of contentious edits. However, I neither have the knowledge nor the experience to validate his edits, I am hoping you do or at least can get the right people involved. I feel his edits are in good faith but need to be reviewed. Thanks in advance Prolix 💬 17:44, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- His editing is poor surely, but the figures on "Guntur Mandal" (I checked that one only) seems to be correct as per this added by him add the end. I'll do the cleanup later. It seems he's in talks with another guy. There is confusion with census, the census.gov.in provides many version, MP, MP + over growth, UA, etc. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:58, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Fylindfotberserk, the confusion over on his talk page makes sense now. Thanks for checking this out! Prolix 💬 12:29, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Prolix: Thanks for reminding me. I'll do the necessary cleanup. Sometimes I have this strong urge to revert edits these because of poor editing skills . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:37, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Partial range block
Hi, Fylindfotberserk. Per your comment at RFPP, I looked further back in the history of Yavatmal and saw there's a slightly larger range, 103.127.77.136/29, doing the same vandalism much further back. (It contains 8 possible accounts, as opposed to just 4 for 103.127.77.140/30.) So I've blocked that range for six months, from Yavatmal only. I keep forgetting to use the partial block possibility, but it seems to be just the ticket here! :-) Bishonen | tålk 16:36, 8 September 2020 (UTC).
- @Bishonen: Six months, Nice . This guy has been a nuisance. Thanks a bunch. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:43, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Re:User
Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, thanks for your message on my talk page. I unfortunately have seen this user editing around the project; it looks like most of their edits have been reversed. I hope you're doing well. Your friend, AnupamTalk 18:33, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
