If any image is to go in the "Historical version" section, then it must be [[:File:Flag_of_Korea_1882.svg]], since that's a mere modern re-creation, while [[:File:Taegukgi.jpg]] is an actual real historical image. However, what's most stupid of all is to remove one of the images, while not adjusting the corresponding text description accordingly (which is what you've done). Furthermore, the Unification flag is not a national flag, has never been a national flag, is rarely used outside of sporting contexts, and is extremely unlikely to become the national flag if north and south were ever to reunify, so it's extremely difficult to see why it should be placed at the top of the page. Thai Royal Flags
Hello, someone asked me to finished them a longtime ago but because of the complexity and the large number of them I decided to only do three more: the Crown Prince's, Princess Sirindhorn's and Princess Chulabhorn's. They are still in my todo list. Sodacan (talk) 12:11, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
U.S. Governor Flags
First off, great work on the governor flags! I don't think that they belong at the top of the article - given it is about the state flag. However, they definitely deserve their own section or page. Sorry about putting them in the See Also section. I meant for this to be a temporary solution until I could do some research on the symbolism. I created a new section for each governor flag in each of the articles. The descriptions need a little work. ...okay, alot of work... :) Cheers! -DevinCook (talk) 11:27, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
A challenge
Fry - If you're feeling up to it, you could perhaps provide Wikipedia with a free version of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets flag and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets flag. The Royal Canadian Army Cadets don't have any flag image uploaded at all. I simply have neither the time nor the skills to do it myself. Cheers. --Ħ MIESIANIACAL 05:59, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the badges are beyond my abilities. I'm still pretty basic with Inkscape. I do agree though that we should have these flags added, and have some mates on the Commons who I can request of. Fry1989 (talk) 19:50, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
- I see; well, you're still better qualified than I.
- BTW: I left a note about the layout of List of Canadian flags at the article's talk page. --Ħ MIESIANIACAL 20:21, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks
Very Excellent! I love flags myself, I collect them in real life.... My state flag is rare OHIO... I believe its the only one like it in the world... though I could be mistaken... Keep up the Work --HRH.zadock (talk) 05:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Darkness2005
Hello. I noticed you've been undoing the systematic contributions of Darkness2005 to UK tv article logos. Do you know if there is a rationale for what he has been attempting to do? I've contacted the last admin who blocked him to have a look at his talk page in case there is a way to arrest the damage, and I wondered if there is perhaps a justification for his actions. He doesn't seem to answer messages that are left for him. Alistair Stevenson (talk) 01:31, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Afraid I've not a clue what method is to his madness. Some of the logos after his changes are minute, with others come out as oversized. That's why we have the display size settings. I'll undo anymore of his changes regarding logo size, but as to stopping him doing it, I think all we can do is alert admins. Fry1989 (talk) 01:33, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I wondered if I was missing something. I've left a message for Sandstein. Darkness2005's contributions show removing size settings from logos is an obsession, but his talkpage kind of suggests it's not the only kind of disruption he's keen on.Alistair Stevenson (talk) 01:40, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Military Aircraft Insignias
Hi with regards to your Slovakian Roundel it specifically shows the design, and I see you believe it's necessary to show a gray background. Yet you have demonstrated the opposite when it came to the Chilean low viz roundel . And these pic tell a different story [[1]][[2]] Any thoughts on a compromise? E Bilko (talk) 23:47, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I absolutely understand why you feel we shouldn't show the grey parts, since they technically aren't part of the roundel, but instead part of the grey fuselage paint. However, I feel it would also be wrong to show those parts as white, since technically they aren't. That is why I removed the grey section from the Slovak roundel[[3]] making it transparent, and showing only outline. Now, some of the low-vis roundels on the Commons, I can't do that, it's beyond my skills. So I think we should use your low-vis roundels with white sections for those roundels that I can't add the transparency to. Is that a good compromise? Fry1989 (talk) 00:09, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah fair enuff. If you have time can your resize the Singapor low vix roundel, it appears to be slightly larger than its (red Brother) thanx E Bilko (talk) 00:37, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Nah no factor, I'll maybe add a light ring outline —Preceding unsigned comment added by E Bilko (talk • contribs) 03:10, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Flag of Louisiana
The Flag of Louisiana has a new official design. http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2010/11/state_officials_unfurl_newly-d.html I also received word from the Secretary of State's office that this is the NEW official design of the flag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.131.80.119 (talk) 03:06, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Arms of Belgium
Hi, I am from Belgium myself. This newer version has a correct collar (order of Leopold), the one you reverted back to is incorrect. The greater coat of arms also need to be corrected. Adelbrecht (talk) 10:11, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- If there really is something wrong with the new arms of the Netherlands, just say so. The old arms you so desperately want to keep is a very bad svg file. Retraced with smudged details. Adelbrecht (talk) 19:18, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
coat of arms: discussion location...
I started discussion here. It seems that changes of the coat oaf arms of the Netherlands on lots of pages (on >10 pages) are not discussed and presently not supported by consensus, as they have been reverted and were barely discussed (only in edit summaries). I suggest to discuss at the location suggested above... L.tak (talk) 02:56, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Texas Rebel Flag
What is the source of this flag? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thegunkid (talk • contribs) 00:08, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- As explained in the discussion page I saw the flag on the news coverage of those silly seccession rallies held at the Texas Capitol duing the US health-care reform debate. I'll try and find a video or pic for you, but the flag infact does exist, and belongs on the page regarding flags of Texas. Fry1989 (talk) 00:45, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Oman Flag
I don't know if it’s my screen resolution or what, but some of you flags including the Oman flag appear very long and flat. That was the only reason I change the flag, to a more retangle shape. Also are you using Inkscape? If so how do you change the margins on the page? ThanksJetijonez (talk) 17:40, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Jetijonez, it's ok, it's not your screen. Oman's flag used to be shorter, but in 1995, they made it longer, as you can see in this article, so many aircraft still have the shorter flag painted on them. But as you can see on the tail of this helicopter, they are slowly starting to paint on the new longer flag. Fry1989 (talk) 17:51, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
