Hi there - I nominated Durham University Centre of Cricketing Excellence for deletion in good faith, as to me it does seem completely non-notable. However, I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about cricket (well, not quite true - I know that a bat and ball are involved...). As two people have pointed out that "...officially first class ... is automatically notable", I'm guessing there's something in it. I wonder if you could point me to the relevant policy - I'll then withdraw the nomination. Cheers, <font color="DarkGray">The</font><font color="Blue">Islander</font> 17:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC) |

:OK, fair enough. Someone else entirely has also pointed it out now, so there's no doubt you're all right. Sorry about the confusion. Cheers, <font color="DarkGray">The</font><font color="Blue">Islander</font> 18:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC) |

Doh!
Hee hee thanks, I was thinking it, it just didn't seem to make it from my brain to my fingers, lol. I've been awake for 26+ hours, so hey. Ariel♥Gold 07:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- Not a big deal! I've only been up for 20 hours... btw, I added a suggestion to WT:RFCN#Archiving suggestion. And I'm off to bed. Honest! Flyguy649 talk contribs 07:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

How many chapters left?
Sooooooo... How's that thesis coming along? he he he... As you may have noticed, yesterday was the first time in over a year that there were actually no active RfAs which, as we all know, is one pretty sure sign of imminent apocalypse. So I figured I'd ask again about considering adminship. You'll see, RfA is a lot of fun. Pascal.Tesson 20:23, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- lol! I'm feeling a bit hunted... see this, this and this. In all seriousness, around September 1. Cheers! Flyguy649 talk contribs 20:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- We know where you live. Any further resistance to becoming an admin and something unfortunate will happen to your horse (or in your case, we might go for the severed head of your favorite fly!). :-) Pascal.Tesson 21:28, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks - good idea
Good idea. Hope we can get some good feedback now, and that the temp will come into use. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 07:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Greek first name query
Thanks for backing me up on the Kaya vs. Kaia query. Writing [ay] rather than [ai] when transcribing the sound of /I/ in Hebrew drives me wild. Translator colleagues have vaguely attributed this practice to Francophone influence, though I'm not convinced. I have only the barest rudimentary awareness of the Greek language, so won't deign to pronounce upon its transliterations or transcriptions into Latin alphabet. Just tryin' t' do m'job, man. -- Cheers, Deborahjay 19:22, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Part of the problem is that how the word is written will affect how English readers will pronounce it. I prefer it be pronounced correctly. But there is a standard transliteration for different letters into English, which is more correct for Ancient Greek than for Modern Greek, in my humble opinion. And now for the disclaimer, I'm not a trained translator/transcriber. -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 19:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hi. I just discovered omeone vandalized my user page a long time ago and I would like the vandalism deleted. How do I do that? Theandra 05:08, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
