I have no particular agenda on how to handle user talk (except for this simple rule). I'm confident we'll figure a way to get the essential points across to each other anyway. Chances are, I'll reply on your talk page and watch it for a reply from you. If you'd rather put it here to avoid a fragmented discussion, you're welcome to copy anything over together with your latest reply. Also, please don't hold back: Nobody is perfect and I'm grateful for any constructive criticism and advice you may have with regard to specific edits or my conduct in general.
(please remember to provide a subject/headline and to sign your post with four tildes: ~~~~ )
I know you say above not to "spam" your talk page, but I wouldn't have felt right if I had not said thank you to you for your support in my RfB. :) Acalamari 22:53, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks again, Dorftrottel. :) Acalamari 19:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I noticed that you had previously commented on the article Steven Kazmierczak into Northern Illinois University shooting. I just thought I would let you know that the discussion has been reopened here here if you wish to provide additional input since the one-week cool down period has expired. Thanks. will381796 (talk) 16:31, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've approved you. Good luck! ScarianCall me Pat 16:52, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Dorfrottel
Thanks for another tricky question! As I'm not 100% up to speed with the massively lengthy discussion that took place in Gracenote's RfA, at this time I won't comment. I'll spend some time in the next day or so (if I can) getting an appreciation of what happened there and let you know how I feel about it. As a general rule, I'd refer you to my other answers, common sense, community consensus and all that jazz, but I know that specific cases never quite fall into these categories so I understand if this is, for the moment, unsatisfactory. I'll do my best to get back to you. All the very best. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:10, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What is it that Kurt is protesting? Is it about anyone or anything in particular? I keep going in circles trying to figure it out. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 05:16, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I thought there might be a rationale basis for this-- or at least one I could understand. BTW, I did not see your opinion on RfC1 till yesterday, but I agreed with it. Gottta AGF and try to follow his logic, tortuous (torturous?) as it may be. I see no reason to harass the guy on his talk page (or in RfC's, AN/I, or ARBCOM) as some are doing. The place to counter an argument at RfA is at RfA. Back in early 2006, Mailerdiablo et al were opposing for lack of Featured Articles. The rest of us kept discounting the rationale and they stopped doing it. IMO, if enough RfA-ers believe even such a ridiculous rationale is pertinent, then it is pertinent and should not be discounted out of hand. And people should stop harassing him. Consensus determines consensus. So long as people counter his argument in the discussion, it will carry no or little weight. And I will continue to do so as civilly and fairly as I can. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 15:21, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Barnstar gratefully moved to userpage.
I like it so much I've based my own userpage on it, with some modifications, code simplifications, and tweaks.
Thank you.

- Thanks a lot! What an honour someone would base their userpage design on mine! Dorftrottel (warn) 14:07, March 5, 2008
I saw your discussion on the Anakin Solo page and decided to go with a real universe perspective by adding a publication history section. It's brief to start with because I wanted to see if it's a good start of what you talk about. I've looked at the other articles you cite (such as Amidala's characterization) and thought to include that with the publication history for the different times discussed. Go ahead and contact me on my talk page when you get a chance to look at it Jmulsers (talk) 21:16, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to have a talk page similar to yours since you offered your help.
- The border or dark background should be Fern green while most of the page or the lighter foreground should be Moss Green. The pattern would be similar to yours but the template would be replaced by the dog header I specified below
- Merge the two dog's speech headers into a single header akin to yours, one the left and one to the right. The header should say this in large letters (14pt will do).
Brutus the Brown Askal says, "put your post at the bottom of the page".
(new line)
Garcie the Black Askal says, "be civil with your comments".
- I'll put this in case you are wondering
- Keep the Archive box in its present location but change its color and style to suit the fern/moss theme (color is optional)
I will not touch my user page for now until I became an admin. People in my future Rfa might question why I pimp my page too much (My WikiStats say I edited my User page 96 times) --Lenticel (talk) 03:43, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for improving my talkpage. It looks more professional now. --Lenticel (talk) 22:07, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to personally thank you, Dorfrottel, for your support in my recent RfB. I appreciate your well-thought-out (and difficult) questions, and I hope that I answered them to your expectations. I am thankful and appreciative that you feel that I am worthy of the trust the community requires of its bureaucrats, and I hope to continue to behave in a way that maintains your trust in me and my actions. I have heard the community's voice that they require more of a presence at RfA's of prospective bureaucrats, and I will do my best over the near future to demonstrate such a presence and allow the community to see my philosophy and practices in action. I hope I can continue to count on your support when I decide to once again undergo an RfB. If you have any suggestions, comments, or constructive criticisms, please let me know via talkpage or e-mail. Thank you again. -- Avi (talk) 16:13, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- You're welcome, and sorry to see it didn't work out. The only suggestion I have is to get more involved with RfA, which albeit is not something I can personally recommend in good conscience... Dorftrottel (troll) 19:06, March 7, 2008
Hah, I didn't mean to give you a hard time about it - my comment about PUD was actually intended as levity though it probably didn't come across very well (nor was it very humorous to begin with). I know you were just emphasizing your point, and I shouldn't have been such a pedant and nitpicker. Anyhow, I probably should have just left it by saying that I agreed with your comments, without trying to be a smart-ass. :) MastCell Talk 18:52, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It might be time for a db-author on WP:SCREAMBOX. Take a look at the last couple of "entries" that I reverted. What do you think? I find it horrifically ironic that I'm close to edit warring over that f****g page. You say the word, it's gone. Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:38, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- sigh. Consider it gone. Which is a shame, but it was f***ing great while it lasted, wasn't it? I can't believe it made it through MfD intact. In principle, I still really like the idea, but now that I see it's true "potential" when a n00b stumbles onto it....well, it's just not worth it in the long run. My next edit is db-author.
