Mid Gippsland Football League
A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Mid Gippsland Football League, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. License tagging for Image:LakeNarracan.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:LakeNarracan.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:09, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Clinton Jones (footballer)
A tag has been placed on Clinton Jones (footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. — DædαlusT@lk / Improve 07:11, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Your edits to the Australia article
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Australia, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. License tagging for Image:BrisbaneDesign.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:BrisbaneDesign.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

National Cup
G'day, I was wondering why you've decided to use the term "National Cup" to describe the AFL Preseason Cup competition. I've never heard it called that. The AFL uses "Pre-season/Night Series" in its records. The ABC (who obviously avoid using the sponsored name) call it the "pre-season cup" (see here). It's been the pre-season cup since 1988 and the night series before that, so unless you have a source calling it the national cup, I'd prefer to see it called "Pre-season Cup" or "Pre-season/Night series Cup". In terms of the variable in your template, you don't have to change it, just the text, like I did yesterday. It is also good editing to fill in the edit summary box to explain your edits, such as your revision of my change to the info box template. What is your plan with the Preseason/Night series premiers lists.. there are now three that are virtually identical. List of Australian Football League night premiers, Australian Football League Pre-Season Cup Premiers and Australian Football League National Cup Winners. I think we should delete the last two and just keep the first one. Regards, The-Pope (talk) 16:30, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
The competition is the "cup" competition (not the premiership) in the national competition in Australia in the sport of Australian Football.

VFL season infoboxes
Excellent work with implementing the infoboxes from the 1950s onwards, but why are you replacing the ones that I've already done in the 1940s? The one I've used refers correctly to clubs as clubs instead of 'teams', premierships to premierships instead of 'titles', has a tidier and correct term for the leading goal-kicker and includes the Champion of the Season. Cheers Crickettragic (talk) 00:18, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
I now see that you're altering your infobox to put in these things .... what exactly is the point? Now we basically have two identical infoboxes. Instead of spending an hour replacing one infobox with another which is exactly the same, couldn't you be doing something more constructive with your time? Cheers. List of Australian Football League (formerly known as the Victorian Football League) Premiership Teams
List of Australian Football League premiers is an appropriate title for the article. We don't need to say (formerly known as the Victorian Football League) in the title as it can be mentioned in the introduction. Otherwise we may as well change Australian Football League to Australian Football League (formerly known as the Victorian Football League). In future if you want to have an article's name changed please use the move page function instead of creating a duplicate article and redirecting. If you move the page then it's edit history remains in tact. Cheers. Crickettragic (talk) 08:36, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm making it a seperate page. BrianBeahr
Why? If you think something else should be added to List of Australian Football League premiers then please do so but I don't see what purpose another article would be. Crickettragic (talk) 08:44, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Also please do not remove the deletion template. As I have explained in the edit summary if you have an issue with me nominating the article for deletion than you can leave a message on the article's talk page or can edit the article so it complies with wikipedia standards. At the moment it is just an unnecessary duplication. Crickettragic (talk) 09:19, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Australian Football League National Cup Winners, Victorian Football League Night Series Winners and Victorian Football League Consolation Night Series Winners

St Kilda Football Club article
Can you please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Layout. I have tried to edit the article to comply with wikipedia standards but you have reverted it back. If you do it again I will be taking this to the administrators. Someone has outlined the problems at Talk:St Kilda Football Club, where I have previously directed you to. Just a few of them are -
- 1. "AFL Highest finishing team based in the State of Victoria at the end of the finals series (1990 – present)" as a section heading is about 10 words too long.
- 2. You persist in putting a link to St Kilda Football Club in the article's opening sentence, which is against policy and absolutely pointless.
- 3. Chronology. Like with all other club articles, the VFA and VFL sections should come before the AFL one. Also the section on grounds is much more appropriate down the page. I'd suggest looking at other club pages to get an idea of how the article should look
- 4. The small, point form, Club history section is not needed. It's all covered in the rest of the article. Perhaps you could put a summary of when the club was formed etc in the introduction. Also the giant flag doesn't belong there.
Cheers. Crickettragic (talk) 11:10, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
