About your RfC: You were prevented by :WP:Neutrality from putting your argument ("if the president says something, that means it isn't classified") into the questions themselves. That's as it should be. But that doesn't stop you from putting your argument into the discussion section. Without that explanation, it isn't even really clear what you are asking or why. Explain it in the the discussion section, as briefly and pointedly as you can. Note: This suggestion is made in pure good will and because I actually do want people to understand, and evaluate, the point you are trying to make. See you there. --MelanieN (talk) 03:59, 8 November 2017 (UTC) |

Atsme☯Consult 03:59, 16 July 2014 (UTC) I did the DYK nominationIt's here: Template:Did you know nominations/Gabor B. Racz. You might want to put it on your watchlist because it's sometimes necessary to do a little editing before it's accepted, but in this case I think that'll be minimal. By the way, you should be quite proud of the minimal attention the article got from new page patrollers. You probably didn't realize it, but those two or three small edits people made right after you moved it were just the tip of the iceberg of probably around a hundred people looking it over to make sure it wasn't too crappy to survive, and then it got assessed with a C by the bio wikiproject. FA congratulationsJust a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of American paddlefish to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA) appear as "Today's featured article" soon (either on a particular date or on any available date), please nominate it at the requests page. If you'd like to see an FA appear on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with about 1,287 articles waiting their turn at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. BencherliteTalk 10:46, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

This volunteer roll call is sent to you because you have listed yourself as a volunteer at dispute resolution noticeboard. If you are still interested in assisting at DRN and are willing to do so by either handling at least one case per month, or by helping at administrative and coordination tasks on monthly (at least) basis, please add your username here. Volunteers who do not add their username on the roll call list will be removed from the volunteers list after November 15, 2017 unless it is chosen to have them retained for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. In case you are removed from the volunteers list, you may re-add your username at any time. However please do so only if you can and are willing to participate as described above.
Either ways, I would like to thank you for your participation and assistance at DRN so far, and wish that you will continue contributing to the encyclopedia and assisting when available.

I'd appreciate your comments here
I have posted a proposal on the BLP talk page and would appreciate you looking at the proposal I have made. I would value your input as although I usually don't agree with quite a lot of what you say and you probably think I'm a bit of a moron, I think you are quite well versed on policy and are also appropriately sensitive to the meanings of words, and in particular accusatory terminology. I should make it clear that I have no idea whether or not you would support the proposal and lean toward thinking that you would reject it on the grounds that you find me about as amusing as a pantomime clown dancing at a funeral dirge. I hope to raise support for it though, as it upholds a level of clarity which I think is necessary in order to fully adhere to BLPCRIME references. Edaham (talk) 11:14, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
Requesting an IP address block exemption, because I am at an event out of state and my iPad IP address has fallen into an area that is blocked for another week. I will be in this location for 2 weeks and need to use my iPad to edit because it has a real keyboard while my cell phone is a horrible little device for such use. Atsme📞📧 17:43, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I didn't actually unblock the hardblock, I just gave you WP:IPBE for a week. Per my rationale on Ritchie's talk page. Floquenbeam (talk) 18:36, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
The block is this one. I believe Drmies and Opabinia regalis have checkuser access so they may be able to review it? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 18:14, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sigh. I also just noticed you said you'd be there two weeks. So I'll extend IPBE to 2 weeks instead of the 1 week I assumed would be enough. In theory, 6 days of the 2nd week the IP wouldn't be blocked anyway, but better safe than sorry. --Floquenbeam (talk) 18:38, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

- Hi, Cw - yes, will be happy to help. Atsme📞📧 11:47, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- Great! You can see the results of this year's WikiCup here. The winner was Adityavagarwal and he chose to display the Indian flag. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:57, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
Ok, Cwmhiraeth, will this work? The user name is longer, so had to make some width adjustments. Atsme📞📧 20:06, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- It's just what I wanted. Thank you. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:15, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, Atsme and cwmhiraeth! It looks great. :) Adityavagarwal (talk) 05:31, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Congratulations to you, Adityavagarwal!! Great job!! It was my pleasure to contribute what little I did to your well deserved honors. Atsme📞📧 13:42, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks a ton, Atsme! I am far away from an experienced editor like you, so I hope I would become a better editor and contribute even more on Wikipedia. Being honoured by veteran editors like you is really encouraging! Adityavagarwal (talk) 14:05, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Halloween cheer!
- Thank you, Adityavagarwal - such sweet words. I'm still eating Halloween candy, so that's a one-day holiday that keeps on giving!! Atsme📞📧 15:00, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Enjoy the candy! :D It is awesome that despite the halloween being finished, your candies are not. I am taking a few candies from you, as it is not over yet, and i also love to eat them! :) Adityavagarwal (talk) 16:20, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Charmayne James GA review in progress
Hi Atsme! We finally have some progress on the GA review. Could you help me out a tiny bit with one of the reviewer's questions? See Talk:Charmayne James. They have said the following about the Career earnings section.
"This section looks like an indiscriminate list to me, unless you could explain how this is relevant."
I'd like to add content to describe the list as accurately as possible in the correct ProRodeo terminology. Who better to do that? I am not sure how to explain it between the NFR and the WPRA involvement, or if that matters.
This is exciting it's here as it's my first one...Thanks again for getting me here! :) dawnleelynn(talk) 22:45, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Don't template the regulars essay
I just found out about this essay, which has been around since 2007 with that title and want to rename it. I can see horrible issues with it and said so on the talk page in non-vague language. What about you? Edaham (talk) 05:00, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, Edaham - You may well find your answer in the following discussion about the DTR topic. As you will see by the posts in that archive, I was under heavy fire. If you still wish to discuss the template with me after reading that discussion, please don't hesitate. Atsme📞📧 13:53, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
I had a glance. I had a suspicion that you may have chimed in on this subject before. The essay isn't balanced. It doesn't do a good enough job either way (whether or not you support the sending of templates warnings). It weakly states that the regulars shouldn't be fed these messages, doesn't give any reasonable info on how to use them correctly and shoots it's self in the foot from the start by giving its self an unbalanced and non neutral title. If it were an article we'd plaster it with citation needed stickers. The essay as it is worded, particularly with regard to the use of the word "regulars", has left its self blatantly open to misuse and therefore lowers its value in doing what it is supposed to do, which is caution against exactly what you were arguing in support of in the thread you directed me to above. You are right that templates are used for gaming and this is bad. The essay doesn't really make mention of this and probably should. Edaham (talk) 14:19, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
- While essays are not WP:PAG and reflect the opinions of the author(s), there is nothing to prevent you from making improvements. You did the right thing by beginning a discussion on the TP, and I would suggest that you actually propose your desired changes on the TP one section at a time, perhaps using a side by side table showing the contrast between current vs proposed. I realize it sounds like extra work, but I'm of the mind you will face less resistance if editors can see the comparisons. Atsme📞📧 14:45, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
- agreed on the side by side comparison. It's too easy to affect a knee jerk revert, especially after the entrance I made. People might easily assume sweeping changes are being made. Edaham (talk) 01:44, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
- ((buttinski)) You could always just do what I do, and a lot of us do: ignore it. It's just an essay, although people point to it as if it was Policy. Personally I template the regulars all the time. I usually add a personal note, but the templates exist for a reason. --MelanieN (talk) 03:49, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

What I actually came here to say
About your RfC: You were prevented by WP:Neutrality from putting your argument ("if the president says something, that means it isn't classified") into the questions themselves. --MelanieN (talk) 03:59, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
