Hello, I have seen your last editions in Vegetarianism article and I will inform you that employ other Wikipedia articles as references is not acceptable. If you do that someone can revert your editions because are not well referenced. If you want to add that data, please search other references (maybe in that Wikipedia articles you linked you can find some of the references needed). ==Before Adding References== |
|||
Before adding refrences as you did here, check that the references are actually relevant to what you are stating. In this instance the refrence was nothing to do with vegetarianism. The section you were looking for actually states there is no restriction on Sikhs to eat meat. Do not confuse Sikhism, with Vaishnavite influenced sects. That is not relevant to this. Thanks--<em style="font-family:Bradley Hand ITC;color:blue;font-size:16px">Sikh-</em><em style="font-family:Bradley Hand ITC;color:goldenrod;font-size:16px">History</em> 20:53, 29 August 2009 (UTC) |

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. You have actually already broken this rule. You have made 4 reverts today against 3 editors. This won't work and is not acceptable. |
|||
As a courtesy, since no one warned you here on your talk page at 3, I am making the warning now. <s>I am going to remove the content just once more,</s> unless someone has beaten me to it, and encourage you to either reach consensus on the talk page, or perhaps create a sub-page here, and bring the section up to Wiki standards, if you choose. In order to do so, I believe you will have to meet wp:NPOV or wp:BALANCE, make better use of citations by avoiding wp:SYNTH. Please note that organizations don't do things. People at or in them do. And finally, you really must seek wp:consensus. |

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from . ::* On review of timestamps, it appears all this was done well after your last reversion, and I was seeing an out-of-date copy of the history. Therefore, in my opinion, taking this to the edit-war board would not be appropriate, as no one gave you a wp:3rr warning. I am no expert. As you have not restored the flags I added to the article, I am going to drop the section again, formally. Please gain wp:consensus before re-adding this new and challenged content. ==Stop It!== |

Stop trying to turn Sikh related articles into Vaishnavism. Unless you can provide ISBN refrences that states the Sikh Rehat Maryada (that published by the Sikh Governing body, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Commitee), bans Meat, then stop. Spurious links to blog like sites and are affiliated to Sikh cults will not cut the mustard. Also, if you try and use one liners like this “The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat." , to distort Bani, I will remove them. This has nothing to do with meat and I suggest you go to sites like this to learn more about Sikhism. Hi, Atmapuri. I would like to take a moment to express my sympathies. It certainly can be frustrating when one's hard work is deleted, especially when it's a topic one cares deeply about. Please understand that, while it may look like it to you now, there is not any ill-will against you or vegetarianism. In fact, many of us who are opposed to the content you wrote are also vegetarians, including me. We are only trying to uphold Wikipedia's policies as we understand them in order to improve Wikipedia; this doesn't mean what you added was necessarily wrong, incorrect, or not useful somewhere; it just means we don't think it fits in Wikipedia. I sympathize with you on this and hope it doesn't turn you off of editing, as we can always use your help. -kotra (talk) 18:45, 6 October 2009 (UTC) |

Welcome!
Hello, Atmapuri, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted (if it hasn't already).
There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type helpme
on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
- Your first article
- Biographies of living persons
- How to write a great article

AfD nomination of Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri
I have nominated Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Bongomatic 00:57, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Atma. Just to clarify, Wikipedia requires that content be based on reliable independent sources (like newspapers, magazines, books, etc.). Articles are included based on an assessment of WP:Notability which requires substantial coverage independent of the subject from reliable sources. Let me know if you have any questions. ChildofMidnight (talk) 16:41, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello. But we have provided a very grand number of such sources. You can not dispute the books. They can be found in libraries in USA also. There are also over 15 references to newspapers magazines and TV shows. Granted, not all in english and not all by major US networks, but I am working on getting more. UN does not count? However, there are bound to be other editors who speak languages other than English. I also dont get it quite. What kind of notability for example is provided for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swami_Satyananda_Saraswati that I did not provide??? The point is, any kind of notability that you want we can find. The question seems only. What exactly do you want to have? I have read WP:Notability and do not see what are you looking for, if that what is already provided is not enough. Can you please be more specific?
- I think you've done an excellent job improving the article. The books by the author don't necessarily contribute to the subject's notability unless they have been covered by reliable independent sources and are themselves notable. The key is independent coverage in reliable sources. I think the media coverage you've added is exactly what was needed. Please remember to sign your comments using four tildes ~~~~ and let me know if you have any questions. Once the AfD closes I will move the article to the appropriate title. ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:47, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that is good news :) The question now is how to address other flags which have been raised, especially like neutrality and advertisement. I have tried to address both of those, but could appreciate some hints here. Atmapuri (talk) 11:03, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bblog(?:cu|fa|harbor|mybrain|post|savy|spot|townhall)?\.com\b (links: http://www.jadanschool.blogspot.com/). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 10:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Puri do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Template:Do not delete
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a15cdz00gji). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. References
Hello there. These links (WP:Citing sources and WP:MOS) contain some invaluable material about inline citations. In general, we add material first and then citations to support the material not the other way around. Also read WP:EL to understand why extensive collections of external links are deprecated. Thanks.TheRingess (talk) 14:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
If you delete references, you make it impossible to add citations. You also make all the content supported by references thus far, even if not supported with citations, an open contest for deletion. I can understand the need for clean-up, but would appreciate, if that would be done, by properly formatting content and reorganizing the page, rather then simply deleting anything that does not immediately conform to your interpretation of highest Wiki standards. Pressing a delete button does not require any special skill or work, but can easily remove valuable information. Atmapuri (talk) 07:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
