Reflinks bug
This bug is caused by Reflinks (the latest version). "Meld je aan of registreer je om een reactie te plaatsen!" is Dutch and means "Login or register to comment". Fixed [1] [2] Arcandam (talk) 01:40, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

I was removing pov material. Wikipedia claims not to be a forum but your actions prove that it is a forum for idiots to speak rubbish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.178.184 (talk) 09:46, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- The edits I reverted did not contain pov material. edit 1 & edit 2. Arcandam (talk) 09:50, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes they did. Also the talk page is for discussion on the article. It's not a forum for nutters to type rubbish.
I guess you are one of the nutters who edit wikipedia and fill it with junk — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.178.184 (talk) 10:02, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have linked those two edits above. Which part of those edits contains POV? Another user (named Toddy1) has reverted the edits you are talking about. Check the history of the article. Arcandam (talk) 10:05, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Your post on my talk page
I was on a wikibreak but in any case don't want to get involved with the article right now. Dougweller (talk) 14:31, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, no worries. He seems to have changed his opinion, see here. Yes, I know, different username, but it is the same person. Arcandam (talk) 22:02, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
- Glad to see all the help you are offering him. I like the bit about 'magic'. Dougweller (talk) 06:01, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
New Page Triage/New Pages Feed
Hey all :). A notification that the prototype for the New Pages Feed is now live on enwiki! We had to briefly take it down after an unfortunate bug started showing up, but it's now live and we will continue developing it on-site.
The page can be found at Special:NewPagesFeed. Please, please, please test it and tell us what you think! Note that as a prototype it will inevitably have bugs - if you find one not already mentioned at the talkpage, bring it up and I'm happy to carry it through to the devs. The same is true of any additions you can think of to the software, or any questions you might have - let me know and I'll respond.
Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 13:33, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Qewr4231 has done something strange to the references section and I am not sure how to fix it. JamieBrown2011 (talk) 15:39, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
I was trying to mark the dead links as dead links but I could not understand the script for the links. I didn't know what goes to which link and how to make it a dead link. Qewr4231 (talk) 23:06, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Did you read the explanation I wrote? Arcandam (talk) 01:18, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Bivalves
Thought I would drop this invitation onto your talk page Arcandam! Invertzoo (talk) 23:31, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

I've noticed your edits on pages relating to Bivalves; perhaps you'd be interested in joining WikiProject Bivalves. If you would like more information please visit the project page. |
By the way, I hope you don't mind Arcandam, because it thought it would be useful for all the Bivalve Project people to see, I copied part of the message you left on my talk page and put it on the Bivalve Project talk page here. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 23:38, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Welcome template
You added a welcome template to User talk:Track1music and also removed all the existing content of their talk page. As this editor has been editing Wikipedia since August 2011, I am not sure why you felt they needed a welcome template, but please do not remove content from other editors talk pages - thanks - Arjayay (talk) 15:00, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oops, I unintentionally removed your message as well, sorry. The rest of that content should be removed (see Emergenza#Showcases.2C_Tours_and_Achievements), and the links in the welcometemplates are useful for people who made 10 edits in total. Arcandam (talk) 16:45, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Request for an experienced software investigator
Hello Arcandam, I previously followed your discussion on Talk:Blekko concerning your efforts to deconstruct that software using a sandbox as a precaution. I was wondering if you could bring the same resources to bare on this discussion: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Synthetic_programming. Specifically, one of the sources provided by the debated article is triggering a report as a malware attack page by my own anti-viral software. Would it be possible to get you to investigate this page with a sandbox and report on A) whether it is in fact an attack page and B) paste it's text into a subpage in the AfD so as not to risk the systems of other editors? Thanks in advance if you can give any assistance! Snow (talk) 22:07, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Snow Rise! Thanks! I know some stuff but when the real experts come along I'll sit quietly in my corner, a lot of people are much much better at that kinda stuff than I am. The 15th of this month Google found some malware on corepy.org. Here is a piece of HTML that was archived with the wayback machine. I think its clean now, it seems like they simply restored a backup that was made before the attack happened, but the website contains at least 7500 links (it is a mediawiki installation) so we are going to have to wait until Google checks it again to see if they cleaned it all up. The website looks like this in Chrome.Arcandam (talk) 23:05, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the assist -- and so quickly no less! I'll forward your findings and the screenshot to the relevant discussion, if you have no objection. Cheers! Snow (talk) 23:18, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Any time. For now it is probably a good idea to wait until Google says the website is safe again (if you don't use a sandbox and want to be sure you won't get infected), which may take a couple of days. Arcandam (talk) 23:38, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I advised the other contributors on the AfD (or potential contributors, rather, as it's just me and the NOM at the moment) that though the site seems to be clean, users should refer to the screenshot for the time being or at least apply caution if approaching the site. Snow (talk) 23:49, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Perfect. Keep up the good work! Arcandam (talk) 23:51, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, you too. :) BTW, do you mind my asking what application you use to generate these sandboxes? Are they full-on VMs or some sort of more limited emulation? Snow (talk) 23:56, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- In this case I used Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 6.0.192.0 because it is simple and free (if you have a legit Windows key or pretend like you do) and it allows operating systems running inside virtual machines to interact with their host operating system in all kinds of useful ways. Another good program is Sandboxie, it is shareware/nagware but it works well. Arcandam (talk) 00:06, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Here is a screenshot of Microsoft Virtual PC on Windows Vista 64bit emulating Windows XP and Windows 98SE and Windows 7 at the same time. Arcandam (talk) 00:12, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent! I've never used virtualization on a Windows PC before but this could prove useful. Thanks again! Snow (talk) 00:35, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Its pretty simple. Download & install Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Download or create a .ISO file that contains the Windows installation files. Create a new virtual machine with a new virtual harddisk. Doubleclick on the virtual machine you just created in the list in the console to start it. On the bottom-left of the screen you'll see a couple of small icons, right-click the one that looks like a CD (the second one). Chose "Capture Iso image..." and you can select the .ISO file that contains the files on the Windows setup cd. Install Windows. When that is done and Windows is running click File -> Install or Update Virtual Machine Additions. Arcandam (talk) 00:47, 29 June 2012 (UTC) p.s. If you prefer to use a CD instead of an iso file that is possible too but installing from an ISO file is quicker. Insert the cd, wait 10 seconds, rightclick the same icon that looks like a CD and select "Use physical drive D:\" (or E:\, or F:\ etc.).
p.p.s. If the "Virtual Machine Additions" are not installed yet you need to use the right Alt-key to switch the mouse back from the virtual machine to the host operating system.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Justin Bieber on Twitter. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Bidgee (talk) 05:34, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
![Stop icon](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f1/Stop_hand_nuvola.svg/30px-Stop_hand_nuvola.svg.png)
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Please comment on the talk page and seek consensus before removing material. --LauraHale (talk) 05:36, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
