Revision as of 03:36, 3 December 2019
December 2017
Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to December 25, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 11:20, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
Sure Mufka., I will take care about it. I was not aware of this fact. Amicable always (talk) 01:59, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Copyright
Hello Amicable always, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jytdog (talk) 16:46, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the information Jytdog. I will not repeat the same issue again! Amicable always (talk) 02:00, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Promotion
Hello, I'm Jytdog. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Parents' Worship Day have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Jytdog (talk) 06:50, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Jytdog, In your edit summary you mentioned "bad ref". In this diff [1] you can clearly see that all the references that you have removed are as per the accurate sources. Here you just simply removed the entire content regarding the official celebration of the event in Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh etc. May I know what's "soapbox" here? I just added the proper references based on the actual news. As per the recent government notice, it's decided to celebrate the Parents Worship Day in 50,000 government schools in Jharkhand. May I know what's wrong in mentioning these facts. Amicable always (talk) 07:11, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
Notice on discretionary sanctions
Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.Template:Z33 —SpacemanSpiff 07:29, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Tulsi Pujan Diwas. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. ~ Winged BladesGodric 11:48, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Amicable always. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. This is about your edits to topics linked with Asaram, as broadly construed. ~ Winged BladesGodric 11:49, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
August 2018
Please do not remove information from articles, as you did to Asaram. Wikipedia is not censored, and content is not removed on the sole grounds of perceived offensiveness. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page to reach consensus rather than continuing to remove the disputed material. If the content in question involves images, you also have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide the images that you may find offensive. Thank you. DBigXray 18:33, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Please stop. Wikipedia is not censored. Any further changes which have the effect of censoring an article, such as you did to Asaram, will be regarded as vandalism. If you continue in this manner, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. DBigXray 13:30, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
- DBigXray, In this [2] you simply reverted my changes, can you tell me from where did you know that he is accused in murder charge. It's just a sexual assualt case and not a murder case.Amicable always (talk) 13:46, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
- DBigXray, In this [3] you reverted my edit stating it's shared by government agencies. So do you believe that times of India newspaper is a government agency? Or do you believe so-called apex body of Sadhus is govenment agency. FYI: In India no such government agency exists.Amicable always (talk) 13:46, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
