I didn't notice hanging out at AN/ANI in there, and I don't think it makes sense that you're now calling guidance from an admin "harassment". You may have underestimated how short the slack was when you were unblocked. --[[User:Floquenbeam|Floquenbeam]] ([[User talk:Floquenbeam|talk]]) 15:31, 17 September 2021 (UTC) |

:{{re|Floquenbeam}} Sorry, I thought they weren't an admin as admins usually display the userbox which says they are one, which is what I'm used to. Also, why so harsh? Since I was unblocked I have warned multiple people and reverted vandalism. Saying to me "You may have underestimated how short the slack was when you were unblocked." just makes me scared to edit Wikipedia, I understand it was a deserved block, and what I did when I was 15 was wrong, however you can't expect the average 15 year old Wikipedian to be as good as an editor who's been on Wikipedia for 10 years for example and is in their 30s. If we talk from here and move on, you could help me make good contributions, and we could resolve this ongoing 'dispute' (not actually a dispute but we seem to not like each other that much). Also I think in general you've been a great contributor to Wikipedia. Revision as of 00:07, 18 September 2021
Hello and welcome to my talk page. Feel free to leave a message here if you want to talk about something.
Need help regarding my username
I will ping an admin who said to do so if I need any help or have any questions, but help from anyone is fine here.
@SQL:
Hey, as you know when I got unblocked I wanted to change my username, I put a request in and it got approved and all went well, however since then I have thought of a username which I would rather have as my Wikipedia name.
Would it be ok if I made a new account with that username so that it doesn't get taken? (Keeping in mind that I could of had that name now if I would of requested it)
And then in 6 months when I can apply for a rename request again, would it be ok if I request a rename on both accounts, for example to swap the usernames?
I also have another question - can anyone edit the administrators noticeboard? I'm a bit confused because of it's name whether only admins are meant to edit it, even though it's not protected.
Speedcuber1 (talk) 22:58, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Oh God. I don't think all this renaming is possible. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:59, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, anyone can edit WP:AN. I'm honestly not sure on the rules surrounding repeated renames. !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 13:23, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- I know one editor who has been renamed four times - RecentEdits, Super Typhoon Eden, Super Typhoon Mercedes-Benz, ModulatedRotation, and RoyceTarantino are is five usernames. So yes, there's probably no limit. 🏳️🌈 Chicdat Bawk to me! 10:54, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at WP:AN, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button
located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. David Biddulph (talk) 07:31, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- @David Biddulph: my bad, I forgot to sign that post. - Speedcuber1 talk 07:34, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
I'm shook
I was checking the edit history of my talk page, and came to the opening edit that created the page. It was a user called Flyer22 Reborn, and after clicking on their user page I see that they have passed away. :(
The last line of their user page where they say goodbye really shook me, rest in peace.
And I'm very angry that they were under the burden of an arbitration case as their health was declining. Speedcuber1 talk 23:27, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Trying to explain better, still
Hey. When Chicdat speaks about equality, they are referring to content contributions among contributors with varying levels of tenure and permissions, and they are right (in the sense that the best sources, rather than most well-established editors, should win the day). By contrast, admins enforce policy wrt misconduct. So, for example "harassing" would be a conduct matter (i.e. not a content dispute). Hope this clear things up. - @El C: Thanks. Speedcuber1 talk 23:11, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
Reminder
From your unblock request in June: "If you are referring to my future edits if I am unblocked, I think I can help improve the wiki with my edits and hopefully I can be guided by other, more experienced editors on things like what kind of edits to make or what kind of articles to edit, etc. Some of the edits I used to make was to link some key words in articles that didn't have many key words linking to their corresponding articles, but if editors who are a lot better than me feel like I could edit more to help the wiki and its articles, hopefully they can guide me and give me some useful tips and tricks. Also, thank you to you and the other people who are helping me through this process.".
