Hi Qy0f, thanks for contributing this article. I made a few improvements to it and added a source. Would you have a source for the claim, "He was probably the most prolific and prominent civil engineer of his generation in the United States."? Thank you for your help in adding information to the pages on Burlington Northern and its predecessors. However, now that the information is in Wikipedia, other editors are working to clean up and format it according to Wikipedia's established Manual of Style and you are reverting the updates. For example, the Northern Pacific locomotive roster was moved to a separate page in accordance with Wikipedia's Article size guidelines; similar splits of locomotive rosters have been performed on articles such as SR West Country and Battle of Britain Classes where the split was a condition of the article's promotion to Featured article level. |

Revision as of 11:10, 29 July 2008
Speedy deletion of Douglas Harlow Shoemaker
A tag has been placed on Douglas Harlow Shoemaker, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. HeLLboy2HeLL (talk) 09:43, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Comment re the above -- is there really a fourteen-year-old Wikipedian passing judgment on the DHS page? This seems in extremis. On the plus side, looks like a Rutgers grad took a liking to Old 99. Bridge, anyone? JP3 Qy0f (talk) 09:09, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Please don't remove speedy deletion templates on articles that you've created, even if you are contesting the deletion. Movingboxes (talk) 09:47, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your comment. As I had never seen a speedy deletion tag before I was not sure how to add a hangon tag properly. JP3 Qy0f (talk) 09:07, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi Qy0f, thanks for contributing this article. I made a few improvements to it and added a source. Would you have a source for the claim, "He was probably the most prolific and prominent civil engineer of his generation in the United States."? Regards, Accurizer (talk) 10:57, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
