I took a look at your contributions out of curiosity, because I recognized your name from previous reverts. It appears that your last contributions over several months have been nothing but reverting users who change DiCaprio's image. What rationale do you have for this? You haven't provided any edit summaries or any explanations. I'm not trying to antagonize you, but it seems like you want to own the article, or at least its picture. Corvoe (speak to me) 11:58, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |

:I added an edit summary now. PS171 (talk) 12:03, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |

::Ideally, you wouldn't have reverted me and would've discussed it here first. I've reverted you again, for now. I'm not understanding your rationale in the slightest. It doesn't matter what film premiere the photo is from: it's a recent, high quality photo that illustrates his current appearance well. The article needs to be as up to date as possible: keeping a four-year-old image when a four-month-old image exists doesn't make any sense. That, and Shutter Island is a psychological thriller, of which DiCaprio has done exactly one. Django Unchained was somewhat of a comedy, and he was nominated for an Oscar for The Wolf of Wall Street, therefore making it a more notable role. Corvoe (speak to me) 12:06, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |

:::Critics even mentioned the similarities between Inception and Shutter Island. Django is a western. |
|||
:::He also seems to have a fake, unnatural smile on the "higher quality" photo. PS171 (talk) 12:13, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |

::::Please stop reverting me without talking to me, you're close to violating WP:3RR which I don't want, so I've stopped reverting you. I'm failing to see your reasoning supported by any other articles. I can see your point, but that is not how images on Wikipedia are done. If the Berlin image was of considerably higher quality, or the 2014 image I uploaded was lower quality (like previous changes have been), I would understand. In this circumstance though, a more recent high quality image exists, and therefore, should be used. The film premiere he is attending couldn't matter less. Some people's images are at completely unrelated events, like store openings or premieres of films they aren't in. The location does not matter, the quality and recentness does. |
|||
::::Further, an "unnatural smile" is not a reason to remove a photo. Check out Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield, other good articles, or Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, featured articles. The fact is this: the image I uploaded is high quality, more recent, and displays the subject well. A four-year-old, high quality image should not be used over a four-month-old high quality image. Corvoe (speak to me) 12:18, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |
|||
:::::Commons doesn't have a better pic for Philip Seymour Hoffman, but the one I added for DiCaprio IS better and the movie DOES represent his work better. That's it. PS171 (talk) 12:24, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |

::::::I asked a frequent WT:FILM contributor, Erik, for his opinion on the matter. He said "neither image represents a film, so I don't see why we should not use the 2014 picture in the infobox and the 2010 somewhere in the article body. The debates I've seen regarding the image have more to do with showing an actor "in their prime" as opposed to being in their 80s and retired for many years. In this case, Leo's actively acting, so I think the more current picture makes sense." I couldn't agree with this more, so I'm opening a discussion about the image on DiCaprio's talk page, and I encourage you to participate in the discussion. Further, you've already been reverted by Lady Lotus on Jolie's page for virtually the same reasons I'm listing here. You can try to build a consensus on Jolie's talk page if you want the image changed. You don't just change a featured article's image to an older one because you want to. stop Please look at the post directly above mine. You need to stop this. Your sole purpose in editing that page appears to be changing that caption to what the talk page consensus did not think was suitable. Please, either leave it alone, or open another discussion. I am not opposed to going with consensus if it has changed, but as of the last conversation, the consensus was to include that the photo was from a premiere of The Wolf of Wall Street.
