::Yes, indeed, but I can change IP just by rebooting my modem after an ipconfig/release in C-prompt if I so wish it. You'd either have to sock or sit out a block whereas I can either wait as long as the block or not at all, depends on how log it is and when I want to edit; no website can block visitors effectively if you're savvy enough. Even better, my ISP can jumps range when you do that, so rangeblocks are useless. One of life's little bonuses of being anonymous is that IPs are like stars, there are billions of them, mostly unnamed. I guess that's why you favour "mandatory registration" which explains a lot in terms of your attitude and resentment when IPs edit articles on your watchlist. You revert anon-edits quicker than my pulse beats. ;) <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> |

The MO of that anon vandal seems similar to Bambifan, but that IP resolves to Michigan. Bambi does the majority of his nonsense from Alabama. However, if you even so much as think you smell this guy, please let me know. His destruction and damage is nearly incaluculable. Thanks for letting me know and believe me, asking about something like this is not a bother. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Call the Midwife finale

- I agree. Also Jessica will be missed. The DVD set has a making of documentary and they mention that this third season were all new stories as they had told all of Jennifer Worth's stories in season two. I don't know if that is accurate since I haven't read them - gotta put them on the list of books to acquire. MarnetteD | Talk 15:13, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
NBA international rights
I sorta, kinda understand your position about those players, however, as long as they are active, they should remain on the article, whenever we think they're good enough to be eventually signed is a moot point, I mean, none of us is the GM, it'd be pure speculation from our part and, even if they're never good enough to make an NBA roster, they're, at the very least, trade chips the team could use some day.187.252.97.254 (talk) 00:02, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your post. Sadly, those sections add nothing to a readers understanding of the teams. OTOH there are worse sections on our articles. MarnetteD | Talk 05:30, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

Hey! Guess who's back? 98.15.249.101 (talk · contribs) is about as VCV as it can get. I'm wondering more and more about some of the IPs in Tampa on a few of the articles being him as well. I'll look into it. Hope all is well! Cheers :) Doc talk 03:58, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for you message D. I am doing well in spite of the spring rains trying to keep my neighborhood totally water logged. The staying power of some of these WP:NOTHERE people never ceases to bore. Conversely your vigilance in fending of their need to ruin things is more than admirable. Double cheers back atcha. !! Welcome back James (nearly) to Wales
Hi M!
James Hook. Welcome back to the UK ... and Gloucester is almost Wales after all ... [3]. Wales has missed the brilliance he has continued to demonstrate in Perpignan for the past three years. Let's expect to see him back in the starting line-up next season.
Hope you have a great weekend. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 12:39, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Are you really in the UK? How long for? There are plenty of meetups this side of the water; I can't make London tomorrow, but will certainly be at Oxford next weekend. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- I believe that it is James H that Gareth is welcoming back. I wish I was in the UK to meet either, or both, of you. If the lottery spirits would draw my six numbers (but, like all tricksters they only toy with me) I would most certainly be over for the next 6 nations tourney and in Sept 2015 to see the Rugby World Cup with you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend on Wiki and, especially, off! MarnetteD | Talk 16:45, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Scotland in the UK
Hi, I would just like to point out that Scotland is actually in the UK, and therefore Scottish films are also British. Many English films on Wikipedia say that they are British, while films made in other parts of the United Kingdom are called Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish and seem to not be equal to English films. English is NOT synonymous with British. That means that anything English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish is British. Please can there be consistency in Wikipedia as English films are called 'British' and Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish are not. Thank you. EverythingGeography (talk) 20:46, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes I know all of this and the partisanship that goes with it. In the case of Gregory's Girl it is Scottish cast, crew, writer, director and on and on. Per WP:MOSFILM that qualifies it as Scottish. MarnetteD | Talk 20:50, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- BTW While Wikipedia, by its very nature, is not designed for consistency. You are free to try and change things at the various Manual of Styles but I have seen this go back and forth several times in my 9 years here and it has yet to be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. Citation for Blazing Saddles
Hi, I don't believe it's being disruptive to tag an alleged fact for citation (as WP policy requires). However, I'm not going to fight over it; it's just not that big a deal. Can you tell me where on the commentary/interviews Brooks mentions doing the song? I'd like to check that out. Thanks! MFNickster (talk) 21:16, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. I got the nice bluray set of his films a few years ago. The original set came with a book with articles about each film. This current set doesn't seem to have that but the price is better than when I bought it. I am sorry but I don't remember exactly where the item in question was mentioned. There was also a pop up trivia track that you could turn on and it might have been there. BTW The Twelve Chairs is highly under-rated IMO and if you haven't seen it I think it would be worth your time. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 21:47, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

- Glad you noticed C. I'm old enough that I remember Harry Morgan from several shows before M*A*S*H. He also performed a wonderful precursor to his Major General Bartford Hamilton Steele one-off M*A*S*H role in the film What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?. I haven't seen it on cable for years so I bought the DVD. It might be out there on the interwebs somewhere if you are interested. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 04:46, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, I remember Steele alright. A funny episode, but maaan if it's not totally inappropriate today. :) Also, "Mule fritters!" "Buffalo biscuits!" Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:18, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

R.I.P. Rik
Thanks Rik Mayall for all the manic and, later on, straightforward performances that you gave us. I know that you had more to give and I am saddened that you wont get that chance. MarnetteD | Talk 21:45, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed. I first heard on our BBC Six O'Clock News (it went out at 17:00 UTC), when in about the third headline, and without any prior announcement, they played in a clip from "Sick". Straightaway I thought "Rik Mayall's died" - and so it was. Why would I think that? I've been kinda expecting it ever since his quad bike accident a few years ago; also, I could never imagine him getting old. Last thing that I saw him in was "The Clue of the Savant's Thumb". He looked younger than me - and I was 48 then. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:25, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
- That was my last as well. The first was in The Black Adder episode "The Black Seal" although it would be a couple years before I realized who it was since the credit ran "Mad Gerald as himself" that still brings a smile. MarnetteD | Talk 22:47, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

Opera Imaginaire
I think there's a film from 1993 that should have an article up. The film in question is Opera Imaginaire. It was a French-made film that was quite similar to Fantasia in every way, except the animation is set to various opera arias, such as Rigoletto or Carmen, anything like that...
