Thanks for uploading :Image:Girl Scouts.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). |
|||
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.<!-- Template:Orphaned --> BJBot (talk) 04:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC) |

Glad to know I'm not the only one out there who disagrees with the way wikipedia is being run at the moment. But alas, my userpage will probably be blocked or banned sooner or later. It's a fight we cannot win, as "the man" always beats us in the end. KnatLouie (talk) 19:35, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
SW template insignia
Hiya. I saw you added an "insignia" field to the SW character template. Is it (i.e. the insignia field) used anywhere? If so, how to the various Lucasfilm-copyrighted Star Wars groups' insignia on character pages pass the non-free content criteria? --EEMIV (talk) 05:59, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, last time I checked it was in an article. Is there a particular criterion of the non-free content criteria that this would fail? If it is possible to obtain free versions of insignia, then it would fail NFCC. I'll try to see if it would be possible to have free versions of images of insignia from the StarWars universe. - The insignia would be decorative; articles that use this template aren't about organizations (and their insignia), but rather members of it. The insignia's absence doesn't adversely affect the clarity of the article, and an insignia's inclusion doesn't significantly add to readers' understanding. --EEMIV (talk) 13:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Girl Scouts.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Girl Scouts.png.
Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
