:It's a little different. The information provided is factual (or presumed to be so - which is easily verifiable with a simple web search) and explains one of the most important parameters of a city (where it is). That makes it a valid stub. Your example, OTOH, is POV (first part) and hard to verify (second part). Totally different scenarios. :: No issues Robert, TPS's are good :-). Inka ... check [[St._Mary's,_Trinidad_and_Tobago|this stub]]. What's really different from what Tigre created? Speedy deletion declined: Fermentelos
Hello Inka 888. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Fermentelos, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:21, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- this is all it said in the article when I saw it. I noticed the user added a bit to it after I tagged it. I said A1 because there was nothing to back up what s/he said. If you look at "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh" that is the example of A1 at WP:SD; how is what that user wrote different? Inka888ContribsTalk 02:28, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's a super-stub, but it does identify the subject ("Fermentelos is a town in Portugal.") If you don't think the town is notable, I guess you can try PROD or an AfD. I'm not even sure whether we have notability guidelines for cities and towns. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:36, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- (Came across this from TigreTiger's talkpage) I've been on NPP tonight; even if there's no actual policy violation here, it's making our job tremendously difficult. It's flooding Special:NewPages, and making it very hard to properly patrol everything. As far as I know, towns and cities are inherently notable, but if you ask me, mass creating sub-stubs like this (I've seen it a few times before, from far more experienced users) borders on disruptive. - ...and do not insist to others that they must create only larger articles, as you did on TigreTiger's talkpage. Doing so is very WP:BITEy and is not within policy. WP:STUBs are fine. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 05:23, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Like I've said before try to stick to G3s and G10s for a little while. Access Denied [FATAL ERROR] 05:26, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- I know that stubs are fine, but please note that this was all that was in the article when I saw it. Inka888ContribsTalk 18:15, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Would you please learn to keep discussions in one place for crying out loud. When you left a message on my talkpage, it even warns you to keep them together. Now, go to my userpage, down to the stubs created - tell me if any of them are that much different from what Tigre created? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 19:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

I apologize for moving the discussion. If you were looking for information about a place, and you looked it up on Wikipedia would you like to read and article with five words in it (three of them being articles}? I looked at WP:SD, and there was an example of A1 which was "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." How is that any different than "Fermentelos is a town in Portugal."? Valued Pictures
Nope, No valued pictures here, just the {{Pic of the day}} template. :)--TalkToMecintelati 03:06, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- How are they selected? Inka888ContribsTalk 03:08, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- First read this, then they are selected though peer review, grueling actually. I've seen pictures better than some Time magazine covers fail this. :)--TalkToMecintelati 03:11, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Tomorrows topic CSD, and XfD
I can see we will need a crash course in CSD tomorrow.--TalkToMecintelati 05:05, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- If you want, I'll help you out too; I've been at this for several months, and I pretty much know what I'm doing. NPP is my specialty, and there aren't many people doing it, so we'd love for someone else to step in and lighten the workload a bit. - If your here at around 15-20 wikipedia time chime in whenever you like. :)--TalkToMecintelati 05:21, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I should be around for a couple of those hours at least. In fairness to Inka888 on this, the situation tonight was a bit strange; I wouldn't expect anyone even relatively new to NPP to have been able to figure out what to do. I guess you'll hear from me then. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 05:25, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

- I'd be willing to help you out, as well. I've been NPPing since June, so I can name most, if not all, of the CSD criteria by memory. The UtahraptorTalk to me/Contributions 05:31, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
