As a result, the charter has been amended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in [irc://irc.freenode.net/wikipedia-esperanza the Esperanza IRC channel] on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter". |

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone. |

RFAHi, just wanted to thank you for voting on my RFA, which went through with a count of (58/0/1), far better than I'd expected. I intend to take things slowly and start using the extra abilities gradually, but if there's anything I can do just leave a message. Cheers, CTOAGN (talk) 13:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC) Caction ScriptIt's actually very useful! I've got it in my JS right now... smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 21:02, 8 February 2006 (UTC) Thanks for the script. Very good idea to save a few clicks. --TantalumTelluride 04:44, 9 February 2006 (UTC) Re: My nameThanks for the compliment about my age! You'll find a lot of people here on-wiki are teenage but most of them are very mature, like I hope I am :). Anyway, the three Wikipedians that know my real name are User:JoanneB, user:Wiki alf and User:FireFox - why do you wish to know? --Celestianpower háblame 21:03, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
IP blocksPersonally, I think "confirmed" users like yourself should be immune to blocks based on IP. It's getting to be more and more of a problem. Unfortunately I didn't read your message until now and it's already too late in your time zone, so perhaps I'll just let the IP block expire on its own. -- Curps 23:12, 10 February 2006 (UTC) My RfA
Another Esperanzial note...Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been amended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). Yours, as ever, Esperanzially, ThanksThanks for supporting my RfA. It was successful and I hope to be a good administrator. Essexmutant 11:47, 14 February 2006 (UTC) ThanksThanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, which passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise (I blocked a vandal last night despite having said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC) Happy birthday!Haaaaaapyyyyyyyyyy birthdaaaaaaay to yoooooo! Yes, I sing pretty badly. What I wanted to tell you is, happy birthday haz!!!!!! Fetofs Hello! 00:00, 16 February 2006 (UTC) P.S: Exactly 00:00! How did I do it? Happy Birthday! I hope you have a relaxing wiki-vacation. --TantalumTelluride 00:12, 16 February 2006 (UTC) Happy Birthday! Enjoy!!! -- Natalya 04:00, 16 February 2006 (UTC) User page awardCongratulations, Haza-w! Your user page has been nominated for the Esperanza User Page Award! Five judges will look over your user page and award it 1-10 points in four categories:
But first, you must be chosen as a finalist. If your user page is chosen as one of the five finalists, you'll have the chance to win an award created just for having a great user page! More information can be found on this page. Re: Esperanza MailWell blame User:Celestianpower for the spelling - he wrote it, I just delivered it (on two sides of a 3 hour database lock) :) Well obviously the judge who was judging you thought your userpage was the best out of three - it's personal opinion. A userpage that catches your eye, not too blarey, not overflowing with jumbled-up information makes a good userpage in my opinion. — FireFox • T • 20:44, 19 February 2006 Interiot cactions toolI already use it ;) Fetofs Hello! 12:08, 20 February 2006 (UTC) New UserboxI like it but maybe we could have some color? Maybe a nice soft orange color. Moe ε 21:08, 20 February 2006 (UTC) Thank You!Hi there Haza-w: I just wish to thank you for your vote of confidence on the Esperanza elections. While I realize that your vote actually isn't a vote, due to the election staff commitments, I do appreciate your support. This is heightened by the fact that I don't think we've interacted here much on the project. So hello! thank you! and am looking forward to working together. Cheers, Bratschetalk 23:10, 20 February 2006 (UTC) MediationIs the mediation case Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2006-01-23_Jack_Abramoff still unresolved? --Fasten 10:00, 21 February 2006 (UTC) can ucan you avertiz my site www.hartsofdeath.us.tt aand www.freewebs.com/runescapehelp050 plz previous unsigned comment left by Devin glenn (talk) Re: transclusionismI've just removed myself from that category because I don't think it really applies to me... personally, I believe that:
So, if you want to create such an association, go for it - meta isn't Wikipedia - but I'm not sure how much support you'll get. Regards, Alphax τεχ 14:01, 22 February 2006 (UTC) |
