== Edit war in Mesoamerica == |
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on :Mesoamerica. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. I have added a section at the bottom of the talk page for the purpose of resolving the dispute. Please discuss it there instead of continuing to revert each other.<!-- uw-3rr --> <font color="green">Pyrospirit</font> <font color="red">Flames</font> <font color="orange">Fire</font> 00:40, 27 February 2007 (UTC) |

== Middle America == |
I see your point and I concede in noting that the Americas (or America) can be also be divided in Northern America, Middle America and South America. However, please also concede that the term Mesoamerica is not often translated as Middle America and that there is far more sources for the other two meanings, just Google it. <font color="#CE1126">Alex</font><font color="#006847">Covarrubias</font> <font size="1" color="green">( Let's talk! )</font> 13:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC) |

:Ok, I just finished reverting the articles. I also added some wording to help the accuracy of the article. I added rarely to the notion that sometimes the term may include Colombia and Venezuela (because most of the sources do not mention this) and that Middle America is ocasionally a translation for Mesoamerica. Thanks. <font color="#CE1126">Alex</font><font color="#006847">Covarrubias</font> <font size="1" color="green">( Let's talk! )</font> 13:30, 28 February 2007 (UTC) |

==North America (Americas)== |
I had already seen it - a few points |
#It is sourced - Encyclopaedias make lousy sources, but not particularly unreliable ones |
#The name is lousy - but I haven't thought of a better one |
#I'm not sure it warrents a seperate article from North America unless size merits splitting |
#Mexico is often excluded from the "loose" definition of North America (and possible Bermuda, Greenland and St. Mickey) - does this merit a third article? I don't know, seems goody. |
#Anyways, the only possible object I could see one raising is alledging it's a point of view fork - I'm not sure whether this is legitimate |
#Sometimes I suspect it's better to let people goof around with X (Fringe Position explained in depth for no apparent reason) then let them spend their efforts trying to incorporate their fringe position into main articles people actually read. That article will always be a stub, but it allows one to write North America properly without having to hum and haw around every statement that's only 99.44% uncontraversial. |
Anyways, your milage may vary. But I'm not sure a fringe article nobody will read whch says things that are basically true but in a misleading way or something is worth a huge fight over. Maybe it is, but frankly the Geography of the Americas articles are all in a shape I can only fairly call Ass - they might appreciate the effort better.
