Edit warring on Solange Knowles
Hi Connii93! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Solange Knowles several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Solange Knowles, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. KyleJoantalk 11:54, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I noticed you also restored your preferred version of Solange Knowles multiple times. Yours is incorrect. You’re also allowing a user who doesn’t have an account & who is editing bios with false information. Tina Knowles parents are mixed race, they’re Creoles from Louisiana. It’s their ethnicity. Beyoncé has stated multiple times that her mom is a Louisiana Creole. As someone who’s a part of that community, I know exactly what I am talking about. Tina Knowles is not an African American. She’s mixed race. Connii93 (talk) 11:59, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- Please read Peaceray's message in its entirety and learn about the important articles outlining Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. What you're describing is a violation of the no original research policy. Its point is to stop users from disregarding sources and editing only based on our personal knowledge and views. For example, based on your words, my deduction tells me that Solange Knowles is also mixed race and not Black. That would be absurd (and improper) to include in the article. KyleJoantalk 12:06, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- Beyoncé has said it in interviews, it’s in her biography, & songs. She has a song called Creole & Formation. In Formation she talked about her parents, “ y daddy Alabama, Momma Louisiana
- You mix that negro with that Creole make a Texas bama.” In her song Creole she talks about being a part of the Creole community & her physical features due to her being Creole. So yes, it is backed up by facts. You’re also free to look up her ancestral tree. Tina Knowles parents last names are Beyincé & Derouen. Which are both French.
