::Did you read my argument at all? Just curious. Anyway, I ask you to consider EVERY NFL award. Visit NFL MVP Award, NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, NFL Rookie of the Year Award or any other you can find. Every single one is "awarded" in the January after the regular season the previous calendar year. But because they are rewards for the regular seasons, exactly like Pro Bowls, they are always referred to by the regular season year. It's insane this has turned into such a huge debate, because to anyone that knows football it's not a debate at all. There is the right way to do things, and Jmfangio is simply mistaken or uninformed on this matter. I am never backing down from this because I know I'm right here. It's absolutely astounding we've even had to discuss this so long.►Chris Nelson 02:13, 7 August 2007 (UTC) |

My Admin Policy: I trust that my fellow admins' actions are done for the good of Wikipedia. So if any of my admin actions are overturned I will not consider such an action to be a "Wheel War", but rather an attempt to improve Wikipedia. If I disagree with your action, I will try to discuss it with you or with the admin community, but I absolve you in advance of any presumption of acting improperly. We should all extend the same benefit of the doubt to our fellow admins, until they repeatedly prove that they are unworthy of such a presumption.
Speaking specifically of blocks, if I block someone and they ask nicely to be unblocked and promise not to repeat whatever transgression led to the block, you have my full permission to unblock and/or reduce the time of the block. Blocks are preventative and if there is nothing to prevent, there's no reason not to unblock.

Sper (Armenia)
If you read the article you would see that its about Armenian district. Also if you look into the history of the article you would see that Makalp created Sper (Anatolia) on Jun 5th and redirected Sper (Armenia) he did the same thing yesterday. He ignores talkpages so discussion is not an option. To see Makalps editing history regarding Armenian articles click here. Please revert yourself because there is no such thing as Sper (Anatolia) --VartanM 00:43, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, actually it wasn't I who copy pasted. I just undid Makalp, I'll be more careful from now on. --VartanM 01:33, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Userbox
I just found a User System Administrator box on my about page. I saw a User Software Engineer box you may be interested in. Rlevse 15:58, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Unprotecting a page for creation
I was wondering if you might help me get Aaron Laffey unprotected from creation. It seems it met CSD a while back, but now this man is in the major leagues with the Cleveland Indians and obviously worthy of an article here. Can you help me out?►Chris Nelson 16:18, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- See WP:DRV. (Although even as a minor league player, the speedy was inappropriate) --B 16:26, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't really understand why it's not as simply as unprotecting the page.►Chris Nelson 18:02, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Because it has been deleted four times, including as recently as a few days ago. Personally, I consider the deletion to have been inappropriate - even if he was only in the minors, that is a sufficient assertion of importance to survive a speedy. A7 is so that we can delete articles from kids writing about themselves. That said, I am not going to unilaterally overturn something that has been deleted four times. I would prefer not to be desysopped today.--B 18:26, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

- I would consider the history irrelevant. You KNOW he is worthy of an article on THIS day. Whether he was unworthy at a time or not, whether it's been deleted before or not, it's irrelevant now. He is worthy of an article on August 4, 2007 and thus no protection should be in place.►Chris Nelson 18:39, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- I completely agree with you ... but no admin is going to undelete something with this history. Either ask the most recent deleting admin to undelete it or take it to WP:DRV. --B 18:48, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

That's a totally inefficient and unnecessary way to do things, but okay. Looks like the last deleting admin will unprotect it.►Chris Nelson 18:50, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Commons upload
Check email on the problem I had with a commons upload.Rlevse 19:18, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Check out this trick someone told me about a month or so ago - http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/thumb.php?f=Wilsonnflfootball.jpg&w=120 . Change the name in that URL to be the name of the image and the width to be the width you are trying to get it to display at and it forces MediaWiki to regenerate the image. --B 19:44, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- I tried that and it didn't work. I'll ask for it to be deleted and I'll reupload. You should become an admin on commons-;) Rlevse 20:06, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Getting the commons version of GGGS deleted and reuploading didn't fix it, so I had to add a 2 to the name. I'll run AWB to fix all on wiki to point to it. Recall we had this problem before.Rlevse 10:04, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
