Papal Speculation
Casito's guess as to who will be the next Pope. Ranked in order of likelihood. Yes, he did use a pseudoscientific spreadsheet to come up with this.
- Norberto Cardinal Rivera Carrera - Likelihood: 11.9%
- Jaime Lucas Cardinal Ortega y Alamino - Likelihood: 9.0%
- Juan Luis Cardinal Cipriani Thorne - Likelihood: 6.4%
- Crescenzio Cardinal Sepe - Likelihood: 6.4%
- George Cardinal Pell - Likelihood: 5.3%
- Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte - Likelihood: 5.2%
- Angelo Cardinal Scola - Likelihood: 5.0%
- Christoph Cardinal Schönborn - Likelihood: 4.9%
- Óscar Andrés Cardinal Rodríguez - Likelihood: 4.9%
- Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio - Likelihood: 4.0%
- Marc Cardinal Ouellet - Likelihood: 4.0%
- Giovanni Battista Cardinal Re - Likelihood: 3.8%
- Someone Else - Likelihood: 29.2%
Ratzinger has no chance. Looking at the last 14 popes, he is 2.5 σ away from the mean age, and 3.0 σ away from the mean term as cardinal before becoming pope. That combines to 3.9 σ If Casito remembers his statistics, that's a one in 20,000 chance.
