I've been doing CFD since I started at WP. I think it's time I moved on to something else around here. I'm tired of it. Too many people think consensus means vote-counting. Too many people think every argument is created equal. Too many people think that consensus trumps everything, including precedence, NPOV, V, NOR, and any and all policies, guidelines, etc. I actually had someone tell me once that if 50 people wanted to keep [[:Category:Jimbo is a poo head]], I would be wrong to delete it. People who understand categories best, what works and what doesn't, are the ones that frequent CFD. I'm tired of people who know what they're doing being overshouted by drive-by POV'ers who whine and complain that ''their'' category is up for deletion, who canvass to get people involved for the sole reason to keep the category, regardless of whether it's good for WP or not. I'm not allowed to determine consensus by anything other than counting votes, because I end up explaining myself to someone at DRV why "I like it" isn't that great of an argument. I get called "deletionist" by some grumpy old troll who has nothing better to do than stir up trouble everywhere he goes. This just isn't worth it anymore. Bottom line, I'm here to help, not to get shit on every time I don't close a discussion with "...and that's 10 keeps and 3 deletes, I close it a keep, yay!" |

Good luck to those who are left. Categories are a bitch. |

About me
My name is Kris.
I joined Wikipedia February 23, 2005, and became an Admin on June 17, 2005.
I took 2 wikibreaks, from March to July of 2006, and from November 2006 to June 2007.
I am a Grand Tutnum (don't ask). Yay coffee cup stain!
I'm an admin
I'm also human. Sometimes I make mistakes. If you have a problem with something I've done, do me a favor and talk to me about it. And when I say talk, I mean talk. I understand you may be upset, but saying I'm abusive, or a vandal, or yelling at me just might be the wrong way to resolve the situation. Thanks.
I don't check my email that often, and I can't check it from work (when I'm usually editing). If you need to contact me, you can do so via my talk page.

Why I don't do CFD anymore
I've been doing CFD since I started at WP. I think it's time I moved on to something else around here. I'm tired of it. Too many people think consensus means vote-counting. Too many people think every argument is created equal. Too many people think that consensus trumps everything, including precedence, NPOV, V, NOR, and any and all policies, guidelines, etc. I actually had someone tell me once that if 50 people wanted to keep Category:Jimbo is a poo head, I would be wrong to delete it. People who understand categories best, what works and what doesn't, are the ones that frequent CFD. I'm tired of people who know what they're doing being overshouted by drive-by POV'ers who whine and complain that their category is up for deletion, who canvass to get people involved for the sole reason to keep the category, regardless of whether it's good for WP or not. Bottom line, I'm here to help, not to get shit on every time I don't close a discussion with "...and that's 10 keeps and 3 deletes, I close it a keep, yay!"
Good luck to those who are left. Categories are a bitch.
