Trance Mission joins the ranks of [[Jon Hassell]], [[Steve Roach]], and [[Robert Rich]] in exploring a primal, techno-tribal music. Stephen Kent ([[didjeridoo]]) is one of today's most respected and prolific [[didjeridoo]] performers, bringing the ancient [[Aboriginal]] sound into a contemporary context. His didgeridoo (with simultaneous supportive percussion) is a signature sound of the San Francisco group, but it's only part of a hallucinatory swirl of ancestral grooves mixed in modern atmospheres. Past members have included Kenneth Newby, John Loose and Beth Custer. Stephen has performed both solo and with Trance Mission at the [[Starwood Festival]] (run by the [[Association for Consciousness Exploration]]), and both he and Peter Valsamis have offered workshops. The present line-up includes Peter Valsamis on Drums & Electronic Programming, Eda Maxym on Vocals, Geoffrey Gordon on Keyboards, Harmonium, Percussion, and Vocals, and Rufus Cappadocia on Cello. |
