The Venetian Macao will be the 32-story, $1.8 billion anchor for the 7 resort hotels on the Cotai Strip in Macau, People's Republic of China. The Casino resort will have 3000 suites, 1,200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, 1,600,000 square feet of retail, 550,000 square feet of casino space, and a total of 25,000 seats in venues for live entertainment. It will be owned by Las Vegas Sands.
Recently, Shangri-La Hotel management has announced it will open two hotels in the area; a 500-room 5-star Shangri-La Hotel and a 1000-room 4-star Traders Hotel. Both of which are slated to open for 2008.
