The Rape of Nanking is a 1998 book by Iris Chang (張純如) and William C. Kirby about the Nanjing Massacre.
The accuracy of contents has always been disputed. Some, particularly Japanese scholars claim that the photograph currently used is a fabrication photograph and this book cannot be trusted.
The Japanese translation was halted because of disagreement between Chang and Kashiwashobo, the publisher. Having trouble with numerous factual errors on it, Kashiwashobo planed to publish a critical commentary together with it.
