- shield: shield for the road with no markup (ex. US 6.svg)
- road: full name of the road, no markup (ex. U.S. Route 6)
- dab: optional disambiguation, such as west for Interstate 84 (west)
- state: state that the current article is detailing
- statebefore: state prior to the current state
- statebeforelink: set to no if the state name should not be linked
- stateafter: state after the current state
- stateafterlink: set to no if the state name should not be linked
- statebefore2: state prior to the current state, if the highway re-enters the subject state
- statebefore2link: set to no if the state name should not be linked
- stateafter2: state after the current state, if the highway re-enters the subject state
