The article has been significantly modified given the concerns, comments, and facts that came to light during the AfD discussion. Please do not revert or re-enter deleted parts of this article without discussion. Detruncate 23:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I added "Dana Plato of Diff'rent Strokes fame who later made bi-sexual porn films". This is a hard fact and is of encyclopedic value because the external links all mention Plato's porn career in realtion to Bugbee. 617USA
I reverted the page back to the previous version by SarekofVulcan, as IP 70.100.87.53 added everything in that had been excised after the AfD. Do not add in previously deleted material again without offering sufficient explanation on the talk page. Detruncate 15:51, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I have reverted this entry back to my last edit which includes a more complete list of Shane Bugbee's releases and works. Please stop this ridiculous behavoir of removing and slandering Shane Bugbee, you only continue to make yourselves look foolish and petty. Amy bugbee sept. 20, 06
Thank you for using the discussion page. However, article information needs to meet some standards. It has to be reliably sourced and notable. For instance, there is no evidence whatsoever that Mr. Bugbee had anything to do with a 'A question of doubt.' Furthermore, there is no evidence that he manned an underground press tent or that there even was an underground press tent at the first Lollapalooza. These are just a few examples. The article is literally filled with more of the same. Self publishing is almost always non-notable, and that makes up the bulk of his accomplishments. Given that he's likely not even notable enough to have a wikipedia article, continually adding in self promotional material only increases the chances that the article will be deleted. Please refer to the deletion vote archive (top of the page) for more information on why the current version is preferred. --Detruncate 14:18, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
SELF PUBLISHING???? Shane Bugbee has published underground cartoonist Mike Diana, Randall Phillip, Al Frank, among others, not to mention he put out the Dorothea Puente cookbook, all of these things are documentable and noteable. While I can understand your desire to remove "Self Promotion", and I am certainy willing to play by those rules, Mr. Bugbee is at least as noteable as many of the "transgressive artists" listed, as much as Randall Phillip, Jim Goad and Mike Diana who all have entries. Certainly the publisher is as important as the artists he published, and beyond that, he has been recognized in numerous magazine and newspaper articles. If Shane Bugbee is not noteable enough, then many of the people and things listed on wikipedia should not be. I would also like to point out that most of the living artists that are on wikipedia, all have links to their personal websites. Please stop eliminating his very large list of releases, Answer Me and Might Is Right are but two in a long career of work. I will avoid adding overzealous promotion, but facts are real, and documentable. [User: Amy Bugbee], Sept 22, 06
Thanks again for using the discussion page before initiating large scale changes to the article. Your point about publishing is a good one, but the issue here is the breadth of the publishing. Paying to have the works of others printed up is not really notable unless they are integrated somehow into a distribution network. For instance the 'Cooking with a Serial Killer Recipes From Dorothea Puente' appears and is availible on amazon.com so it would probably be fair to have it listed in the article. Possible the Dana Plato's last breath cd as well, though that's more questionable as it's not availible currently and was of limited distribution to begin with. Anything that can be verified from a source that is itself notable can be reasonably included within the article. Detruncate 22:44, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
I have tidied the article up a bit by correcting some minor grammar and removing some non-notable, unsourced info. I have also now updated to reflect the true status of the association with Dana Plato. I am wondering if an article is even appropriate for this person; I have doubts he is considered noteworthy enough. He also seems to be simply using the link to this article on his website(s), perhaps to make it look as if someone else has written an article about him and that he is "famous". Edited to add: I have now read the deletion discussion. [User:porpita]5 November 2006
Again, Shane Bugbee's ownership of Radio Free Satan has been taken out.
Also, there is a full chapter on him in the book 'Art That Kills' by George Petros talking about his importance to the transgressive art movement of the 80s and 90s. Why does that keep being removed?
Shane Bugbee has not written any of this article. I, Amy Bugbee have, and have made no secret of the fact I am one of the authors, he is worthy of an entry not because I am his wife and think he's great, but because he has done a great deal for underground culture, the fight against censorship, and as a journalist.

- Radio Free Satan is non-notable. Also, having a chapter in a book that is in of itself non-notable is not notable. Please refer to the appropriate wikipedia policies if you have any further inquries. Don't add non-notable unsourced information. Detruncate 00:40, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Actually, it seems to me he is promoting himself. He isn' t famous or notable for wikipedia Spt 23 2009
Uh no it's a person of public interest that has relevancy to the modern world at large and who has spoken to or with many famous and infamous! Edited to clarify and to create a more expanded article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shanebug9 (talk • contribs) 04:39, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

help with editing slanderous and out of context additions.
wikipedia
This user Shanebug9 edited the page in a malicious way. I suspect they are a person I had to ask to leave a creative project.
While I’m not up on the rules of editing wikipedia, I do know the edits that user has made as out of context, some changes are linked to articles that don’t even mention me and are slanderous.
The link below looks to be the last edit that wasn’t made by that person.
Special:Permalink/871487899
I wonder does wikipedia check the source articles? If so, they haven’t on these changes… most are sourced but no where in the source article does it mention the changes made by Shanebug9 .
examples:
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI: “Bugbee was born in Lubbock, Texas and by his own admission grew up very poor and moved house to house, eventually settling in Chicagowith his family sharing an apartment with a black family. Being a complete attention seeking terror most of his young life, he dropped out of school at age 14 and has an admitted distrust of computers, believing them to be elitist.”
CORRECTION: Most of this sentence is incorrect and not in the sited article. My family never settled in Chicago, or lived with a black family. I however did eventually become a runaway from my suburban home, lived on the streets of Chicago and I was taken in by a family of color.
I’m not sure I was an attention seeking terror, but I’m certain that isn’t in the article used as a source.
I dropped out of school at 16, I was also one of the first podcasters, first to use youtube and first publisher to jump to print on demand, so that would be in factual contrast to what is sited in the above sentence.
Done: Material indeed unsupported by the source. Removed entirely. Demko 2007 supports some of the above, but someone else can deal with that. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
There is a section that speaks of my spouse and says we are divorced.
CORRECTION: We are not, we are separated and going through a divorce… there is no source for that misinformation sited, of course there wouldn’t be.
Not done A later source cited says "This podcast was born out of an ugly, abusive, dysfunctional divorce.". Article needs clarification on that basis. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
“In 1992 Bugbee became an agent of Serial Killer John Wayne Gacy art to gain more attention and accolades, eventually publishing Gacy's bio "A Question of Doubt".[5] “
CORRECTION: A part of the above is blatantly wrong, I never, ever said that nor has it been said about me. “to gain more attention and accolades” Is misinfo and no where is this stated in the sourced article
Not done It's not currently stated by this article, either. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI: Bugbee met his now ex-wife Amy through Genesis P. Orridge and Clive Barker in 1994 at the Goat Gallery, and the two married in 1996.[6]
CORRECTION:
Again, this is partial miss-information.
I never met my wife through Amy through Genesis P. Orridge and Clive Barker and this again, is nowhere in the source piece. I did meet her at goat gallery.
Done: Indeed, the source does not support this. Removed. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI: Starting in 2001, he organized and extensively promoted a new tour entitled "The Angry White Men" tour.[3]
CORRECTION: Slight error, it was MALE not MEN. The Angry White Male tour.
Done: Indeed, the source says Male not Men. Corrected. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
He self-promoted the tour with the press release reading "If the Confederate flag doesn't infuriate you, perhaps the pornography will. If the pornography doesn't do it, perhaps Answer Me! #4, "the Rape Issue with the Limited Edition Rape Board Game," will do it. If the rape issue doesn't incite you, perhaps the presence of special guest Jim Goad, convicted woman beater, will." Jim Goad left the tour halfway through following a business dispute[12] and for the statements made by Bugbee proclaiming "Working-class white men have become the most despised group in America."[13]
CORRECTION: Again, nowhere in the source linked does this info appear. It does appear in a sited article, but it’s not a quote from me or my prerelease, it is from the journalist.
Also in this paragraph, they quote the journalist, out of context to state that I said "Working-class white men have become the most despised group in America." When I DID NOT, the journalist did.
Jim Goad did leave the tour based on a disagreement, but it wasn’t the above quote.
Done: Indeed, the source has been misrepresented; and the other stuff was woefully inadequately sourced. Removed. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI: Bugbee created his own blueberry soda pop, Ely Soda.[14] The popularity of the soda led to wider revelation of Bugbee's other entrepreneurial and artistic endeavors, eventually ending in the typical controversy and exile, with Bugbee claiming he had done nothing to deserve any of it. [15]
CORRECTION:
“the typical controversy” as a person who has suffered much for my art, “typical controversy” seems like an odd opinion that boarders on bias rather than information.
Not done Not actually in the article at present. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
Bugbee turned his attention to environmental and political concerns, with the Angry White Men tour he started his new path of political activism and fighting for the working class, stating "I see my people as being working class. Blue collar. My teeth rot at the same rate as the black man living next store. We both don't have any insurance. We're all niggers. We're all slaves in this world. We all have to trade five days for two. Most people get the joke. Maybe if they hear us say things that are taboo, it will inspire them to say, No man, I'm not working for $5 an hour."[3] The Angry White Male tour was received with mixed reviews, and led to the creation of the The Northwest Club Coalition chaired by author Cristien Storm and supported by North Atlantic Books to fight against the White Nationalist the tour was drawing.[16] Bugbee was a winner in the Willie Nelson peaceful solution video contest.[17] From Nov. 4 2007 until Nov. 5, 2008 Bugbee embarked on a year long road trip called A Year At The Wheel [18] covering art, politics, religion and revolution which culminated into a book and documentary release [4].
QUESTION:
Is a biased blog post a legit source for wikipedia?
I do not endorse white nationalism or any nationalism, nor did my company.
Not done Present article says nothing about anyone endorsing nationalism. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
Bugbee talked to many along the way from small town workers to Timothy Wyllie of the Process Church of the Final Judgment[19] settled in a small beach town in 2008 int he southeast corner of Washington state after the road trip. Shortly after arriving he began using sculpture as a medium of expression, producing dozens of works which have been exhibited in various shows. He was interviewed about his art in ArtSyncmagazine in 2011.[20] While running ArtSync, he started the imprint Young American Films that featured interviewed many artists, including Dagon from the black metal band Inquisition with topics ranging from symbolic uses of World War II imagery, artistic expression, free speech absolutism, and genocide.[21] and Nergal from Behemoth on the nature of Christianity and Catholicism in Poland.[22] he also interviewed Portland Artist Jesse Reno on art, dangerous art, censorship, and how one would define art. [23] Later the title would change to "What is Art?" inspired by the essay by Leo Tolstoy which tackled the subject of art, artists, and censorship.[24]
CORRECTION:
The below quote is odd or out of contexts and mostly untrue I never ran ArtSync, it is a magazine interview I did. I never started an imprint called Young American Films.
“While running ArtSync, he started the imprint Young American Films that featured interviewed many artists, including Dagon from the black metal band Inquisition with topics ranging from symbolic uses of World War II imagery, artistic expression, free speech absolutism, and genocide.[21]”
Done: Only one claim supported by the source. Removed all others. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
CORRECTION:
From the same larger paragraph, the below paragraph is out of context and includes miss information… I have never read or been influenced by Leo Tolstoy - There is NO link to any source that says I am. I’d say slanderous.
he also interviewed Portland Artist Jesse Reno on art, dangerous art, censorship, and how one would define art. [23] Later the title would change to "What is Art?" inspired by the essay by Leo Tolstoy which tackled the subject of art, artists, and censorship.[24]
Done: Not supported by source cited. Removed. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
In October 2015, Bugbee with fellow artist and friend Dave Archer, did a show at AFRU Gallery in Portland, the exhibit titled "Black Magic House Blessings and Fukushima Death Curses" featuring his sculptures and Dave Archer's wood burnings. It received favorable reviews in local press.[30] In 2018, he started a new Podcast entitled "Love, Loss, and Despair",[31] addressing among other things his recent divorce, the publishing of Might is Right, his first encounters and meeting with Katja Lane wife of White Nationalist David Lane, the failure of "A Year at The Wheel" to lock-in a final edit, his rivalry with artist Steven Johnson Leyba, and his admission into the Church of Satan.
CORRECTION:
This paragraph links to my podcast as a source but nowhere in my podcast do I speak of being divorced. I am not at this moment.
Not done The source cited says "This podcast was born out of an ugly, abusive, dysfunctional divorce.". Article needs clarification on that basis. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
FROM Shanebug9 EDITED WIKI:
He is currently in the process of creating a new podcast, as well as maintaining an Etsy shop with satirical screen prints mocking popular brands such as Nike.[32]
CORRECTION: I don’t have an etsy account.
Not done Present article says nothing about Etsy. Uncle G (talk) 05:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion
Much of this article is heresay and is either linked to information from the subject or the subjects website and podcasts. There seems to exist a lot of contradicting information in the subjects statements and even the connection to Gacy cannot be proven as he is not listed as a publisher on the first edition and the article linked merely describes him as a collector and reseller of art.
Short of anyone in the Satanic Temple confirming his involvement we are forced to rely on the subjects word. I firmly believe this article is for self promotion and doesn't rely on proper sources. The few third party sources have been argued by the purported subject as not being reliable or out of context. The subjects Twitter page has also called for individuals to add or edit the article to "remove falsehoods".
Submitting these concerns to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard as well.
What to keep
I'm kind of at a loss for what actually should remain in this article. Outside of the lead, it all seems pointless. Beach drifter (talk) 04:36, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
