Why do we spell his name according to Polish rules "Szapszal"? He was not a Pole and he lived in Poland only in 1921-39. IMHO we should move it to Seraya Shapshal - transliteration of original Karaim Серая Шапшал.

Firkovich
Hello Neria, Could you explain why you don't think Seraya Shapshal should be mentioned on the Firkovich page? Cheers, TewfikTalk 05:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- Why should he???
- They said different things!
- They have no connection! --Neria 13:35, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Szapszal etc.
Indeed, Szapszal (he wrote most of his work in Polish - therefore it is definitely better to use Polish transliteration of his name instead f English "Shapshal") has nothing to do with old-fashioned Karaite traditionalist Firkovich and CANNOT be called "his philosophical disciple". I corrected most obvious mistakes in the article (Szapszal was born in Bahcesaray, not in Chufut-Kale; he has nothing to do with the other Szapszal, the author of the letter to Falashas) and added bibliography.
