There are lots sources for King being born at Skellands Farm. His family farmed in the area, and at Skellands Farm from 1425 to 1825,when Skellands was a 800 acre estate, recorded in the window at Kirkbymalham parish church t King's father, Reverend Dr James King, was born there.
