Small Planet Airlines Cambodia is a part of [[Small Planet Airlines]] Group based at [[Siem Reap International Airport]] with further bases throughout Cambodia. It operates services to regional destinations in Southeast Asia to countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It also flies to regional routes in East Asia such as Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It is the main feeder airline for its parent company Small Planet Airlines for budget passengers flying to Europe. Its sister airlines include [[Small Planet Airlines (Germany)]], [[Small Planet Airlines (Poland)]]. |
==History== |
Small Planet Airlines start commerce its flight from November 27 from Capital [[Phnom Penh]] to the world heritage site [[Angkor Wat]], Located in Siem Reap with Airbus 320-200 which registered in Cambodia. |
Small Planet Airlines Cambodia is the proposed name of Small Planet Group's potential Cambodian subsidiary. The holding group plans to introduce a new Asian subsidiary in order to reduce the effects of seasonality on its business model - a model that up until now has meant providing primarily European holiday charters through its Lithuanian, Polish and German operations. Small Planet Group ended a five-year agreement with [[Sky Angkor Airlines]] to operate chartered services to North Asian destinations, including China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and sought a more secure foothold in the market. Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) confirmed Small Planet applied for an air operator's certificate in Sep-2016, seeking to establish a Cambodian carrier to be based at Siem Reap. According to Small Planet, the start-up will operate charter flights from Siem Reap to destinations in South Korea and China in lieu of the failed Sky Angkor deal. Small Planet Airlines Cambodia plans to operate with two A320s, then expand its fleet to six aircraft by 2020. The airline completed its first demonstration flight from Siem Reap on 23-Sep-2017. Small Planet Airlines Cambodia secured an AOC in Oct-2017. |
