The Silesian metropolitan area is the metropolitan area of the city of Katowice in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship. A wider definition that includes the Ostrava metropolitan area extendes the region into northeast Czech Republic. This wider region is located also located in part of Lesser Poland Voivodeship and the Moravian-Silesian Region.
