Among religions in Tonga, the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Tonga (Siasi ʻAhofitu) was started by United States missionaries who arrived in 1891.
In conformity with Tonga's constitution, Tongan Seventh-day adventists observe the Sabbath on Sunday, rather than on Saturday, the day on which the Sabbath is observed by most Seventh-day Adventists.[1]
