Serendipity 3 (Serendipity III) is a restaurant and general store located in the Upper East Side, in New York City.
In November 2007, Serendipity unveiled a $25,000 dessert called the "Frrrozen Haute Chocolate," which Guinness World Records declared the world's most expensive desert. A week later, Serendipity 3 was temporarily shut down by health inspectors after the restaurant failed its second inspection in a month. Inspectors found a live mouse, mouse droppings, flies and live cockroaches. The restaurant reopened a month later.
