As of Feb 2006, the website was pointing readers to sources which lack credibility and scientific merit, are packaged as entertainment and distort evidence in favor of their claims. A related concern has been that the website effectively ignores the websites and original work by some of the most respected long-term researchers of the 9/11 attacks, such as CooperativeResearch.org, FromTheWilderness.com, 911Truth.org, OilEmpire.us, 911Research.WTC7.net, Ratical.org/ratville/CAH/, and WTCEO.org. Scholars for 9/11 Truth is a group of about 50 faculty, students, and scholars who question the official account of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The group believes that the investigations by FEMA and NIST regarding the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings are inadequate, and that crucial facts pertaining to the attacks have been covered up by senior government officials. According to their website they "encourage their members to vigorously express their concerns on this score through lectures, conferences, symposia, articles, and books as well as other access routes that publicize their findings." [1]
Conclusion
Their conclusion is based on the results of their own scientific and political research. These experts contend that the official version of events on September 11 are one of the greatest hoaxes in history, which has led to war and unconstitutional policy and decision making. They believe that the 9/11 Commission Report is permeated with omissions, distortions, and factual errors, including the omission of the collapse of Building 7, which was not hit by airplanes and collapsed hours after the twin towers were struck.

Recent scientific study of collapse by BYU Professor Professor Steven E. Jones from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Brigham Young University published a paper on a page on the university web site titled Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?; on this site Jones presents a hypothesis for the controlled demolition of WTC towers 1, 2, and 7, and calls for an independent investigation of the hypothesis that WTC 7 and the Twin Towers were brought down, not just by damage and fires, but through the use of pre-positioned explosives. A version of the website information was presented to an audience from BYU and Utah Valley State College on September 22, 2005. The paper will be published in a book called "The Hidden History of 9-11-2001" by Elsevier, in spring 2006. Although Professor Jones is not a trained structural engineer, nor does he have training in controlled demolition, nor is his paper peer-reviewed (nor is the NIST report), he calls for an independent and international investigation by experts in these areas outside of the bodies of NIST and FEMA. He especially focuses on the evidence of the molten metal found at the base of WTC1, 2 and 7.

Press Release stating Mission :
- The members of this group are dedicated to exposing falsehoods and to revealing truths behind 9/11, "letting the chips fall where they may." The evidence has become sufficiently strong that they are speaking out. They are actively devoting themselves to reporting the results of their research to the public by means of lectures, articles, and other venues.

- "We believe that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11," the group says in a statement released Friday announcing its formation. "We believe these events may have been orchestrated by the administration in order to manipulate the American people into supporting policies at home and abroad."
- "We have very limited resources and no subpoena powers," Fetzer said. "What you have is a bunch of serious scholars taking a look at this and discovering it didn't add up. We don't have a political ax to grind."

- They believe that this White House is incapable of investigating itself and hope the possibility that Congress might hold an unaccountable administration accountable is not merely naive or wishful thinking.
- They are encouraging news services around the world to secure scientific advice by taking advantage of university resources to verify or to falsify their discoveries. Extraordinary situations, they believe, require extraordinary measures.
- If this were done, they contend, one of the great hoaxes of history would stand naked before the eyes of the world and its perpetrators would be clearly exposed, which may be the only hope for saving this nation from ever greater abuse.

- Since Kennedy's assassination, Americans have lurched between demanding to know and plugging their ears: The Pentagon Papers, My Lai, the King assassination, Watergate, Iran-contra, the savings-and-loan debacle, Monicagate. Lately, however, it would seem the public's verdict is in: Don't tell us. Keep us in the dark. We don't want to know.

- A BYU physics professor speaking on Wednesday night implied a government cover-up of what really happened on Sept. 11, 2001, and cast doubt on the blame placed on Osama bin Laden.
- Professor Steven E. Jones suggested before the attacks the Bush administration was seeking a way to increase military spending and invade Iraq. The ensuing attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan have created most of Muslims' disdain for America, he said.

- (Scholars for 9/11 Truth) could be right. There are not many editors eager for writers to explore the glaring defects of the 9/11 Commission Report. One would think that if the report could stand analysis, there would not be a taboo against calling attention to the inadequacy of its explanations. We know the government lied about Iraqi WMD, but we believe the government told the truth about 9/11.

Critiques of Scholars For 9/11 Truth
Although most activists and researchers in the 9/11 Truth Movement have been positive and excited about the formation of a scholars group and most would agree that it is an important step for the movement to take, some[6] also express concern that members of the scholars group and its website are promoting debunked theories which discredit the movement, such as the idea that the commercial aircraft used on 9/11 were not actually involved in the attacks, but instead, were replaced by fake planes or military drones, as described by Morgan Reynolds[7] and Leonard Spencer[8], among other members of the group.
Some 9/11 researchers have critiqued the website[9][10], noting that it promotes one-sided views of issues which are debated within the movement (such as the idea that Flight 77 did not hit the Pentagon)[11]. As of Feb 2006, the website was pointing readers to sources which lack credibility and scientific merit, are packaged as entertainment and distort evidence in favor of their claims.
