Rubina Bajwa (born 24 February) is a Canadian-born Indian actress associated with Punjabi cinema. She started her career in 2017 in the lead role alongside Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai in the Punjabi film Sargi. The film marked the directional debut of Rubina Bajwa's sister Neeru Bajwa.[2][3] She won the Best Female Actress Debut in 2018 in the PTC Punjabi Film Awards and was nominated for the Best Female Actress Debut Filmfare Awards.[4][5]
Career
Bajwa started her career in 2017 in a Punjabi film named Sargi opposite Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai directed by Neeru Bajwa. She then was in Laavaan Phere opposite Roshan Prince in 2018 which was a huge success at the box office.[6] Bajwa then starred in Babbal Rai's music video Rohndi Tere Layi and made a guest appearance with Ammy Virk in the movie Aate Di Chidi.
In 2019, Bajwa’s first film release was Dil Diyaan Gallan in which she had a special appearance.[7] Her next film was Laiye Je Yaarian opposite Harish Verma, the film also starred Amrinder Gill which was produced under the banner of Rhythm Boyz.[8] She also starred in a critically acclaimed film Munda Hi Chahida also opposite Harish Verma.[9][10]
Bajwa will be sharing the screen with her sister, Neeru Bajwa for the first time in the upcoming movie, Beautiful Billo.[11]
Personal life
Bajwa was born in Vancouver, British Columbia to Jaswant Bajwa and Surinder Bajwa. She grew up in Vancouver and later came to India to follow her sister's footsteps in the Punjabi cinema industry.[12]
In 2019, Rubina Bajwa began dating Indian-American internet entrepreneur, writer, and philanthropist, Gurbaksh Chahal.[13][14][15][16][17]
