PrankvsPrank, also known as PVP, is a YouTube channel created by Jennifer "Jeana" Smith and Jesse Wellens.[1][2] In 2007, the two began to play pranks on each other, and post videos of them on websites, eventually forming a channel on YouTube.[2] The channel has about 502,061,000 video views, and 3,606,000 subscribers as of September 7, 2013.[3] Wellens filmed Smith attempting the cinnamon challenge and posted a video on the Internet, starting the serial pranking of each other, and posting the videos online.[2] The videos show how they prepare themselves to prank each other and record their reaction.
Critical reception
Reception of PrankvsPrank has been widely positive, though negative reviews are still common.[4] A concern is that a prank may one day go "too far", and they will break up.[4] However, in their interview with ABC, they said that in the end, it's always a joke.[1] On April 1, 2013; USA Today rated PrankvsPrank YouTube's best pranksters.[5]
BFvsGF
Smith and Wellens also have a vlogging YouTube channel called BFvsGF, in which they post daily videos about their lives.[6] The channel has about 472,000,000 video views, and 2,244,197 subscribers as of September 12, 2013.[7] The channel joined YouTube on October 9, 2009.
Other appearances
On Sep 21, 2012; Wellens was featured in a Simple Pickup public embarrassment episode. Both PrankvsPrank and Simple Pickup posted a different version of the video.[8][9]
The couple played the Spartan king Leonidas I and his wife Queen Gorgo, respectively, in an episode of "Epic Rap Battles of History" from season two, entitled "Master Chief vs. Leonidas."[10]
