Nafisa Kamal is a Bangladeshi businesswomen and entrepreneur. She is the chairman of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise team Comilla Victorians.[1][2] She became the first and only Bangladeshi female cricket organizer. Her strong presence in cricket considered a great sign of women empowerment in Bangladesh.[3] She is also the director of Lotus Kamal Group.
Early Life & Education
Nafisa Kamal was born in April 21, 1980 in Dhaka. Her father is AHM Mustafa Kamal, who is a Bangladeshi politician, cricket official, and businessman. He is the former Minister for Planning and current Minister of Finance.[4][5] She completed O-Level and A-Level from EDEXCEL International. Nafisa completed graduation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.[6][7]
Career
She started her professional Cricket involvement by part of the franchisee of Sylhet Royals in the first edition of the 2012 BPL. But her team was failed on that session. From the third session of BPL she established her own team Comilla Victorians . Comilla Victorians were crowned the champions in their debut season. The team won their second time champions title on BPL 2019. Besides managing the cricket team, she is also serving as the director of Lotus Kamal Group.[8] She is also the member of director board of The Farmers Bank Limited.[9]
Personal life
In her personal life, he is married and mother of two child. She is working to create good cricketers from the local area for that she runs a cricket academy also. She is involved in charity work.[10]
