Morad Fareed is an NY-based entrepreneur and former professional athlete. He is the co-founder of Delos, the pioneering wellness into real estate company that focuses on improving health through advanced design and technology features into built environments.
He began his career in financial services with Goldman Sachs and later, First Manhattan Consulting Group. While an NYU student in 1999, he co-founded a successful telecommunications startup called ICS Inc., focusing on the emerging Voice-over-Internet Protocol technology.
In 2004, Fareed took a break from his professional career to join the first Palestinian national soccer team in its quest to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. Although Palestine did not qualify for the World Cup, Fareed earned three "caps", honors awarded by FIFA, for his work on the team.
He was featured in the 2006 film Goal Dreams, a documentary directed by Maya Sanbar and Jeffrey Saunders that follows the Palestinian national team on their quest to qualify for the World Cup. The film was aired on the Sundance Channel[disambiguation needed] and became an official selection at numerous film festivals. He was also featured in BBC’s Frontline Football as well as Nike: Soccer NYC.
Fareed is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Business Council, and serves on several advisory boards, including the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, the i.am.angel foundation founded by will.i.am, and Soccer for Peace. He is the Co-Founder of Project Phoenix, the non-profit dedicated to building a Football Stadium in Haiti. He wrote about his soccer experiences in "Soccer and Society" published by Taylor & Francis in 2012.
He is a native of New York and lives in Manhattan.
