Miran Hrovatin (Trieste 1949 –Mogadiscio March 20, 1994) was an Italian photographer and camera operator killed in Mogadishu, Somalia together with the journalist Ilaria Alpi under mysterious circumstances.
Hrovatin belonged to the Slovenian ethnic community of Trieste. worked He worked before for the agency Alpe Adria then for the agency Videoest of Trieste.
March 20, 1994,He was killed in an ambush along with Ilaria Alpi[1] returning from Bosaso[2] , while he was in Mogadishu to Rai 3[3]. With them were a bodyguard, unharmed and disappearance, and the driver Sid Abdi, who was also unhurt.
