Mike Kelly is the head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was named as Winnipeg's 27th head coach on December 2, 2008. Kelly also served as offensive coordinator with the Bombers between 1992 and 1996 where he helped the team capture three regular season East Division titles while appearing in two Grey Cups.
During this time, Kelly, a native of Waterbury, Connecticut, helped lead the Winnipeg offence to 29 club records including Matt Dunigan’s record 713 yards passing in a single game, a Canadian Football League record set in 1994.
Playing career
Kelly played quarterback for Bluffton College (Ohio) from 1978 to 1980. When he graduated, Kelly ranked third in career completions (95), fourth in career attempts (242) and fifth in career passing yardage (1,028). He was just the sixth player in BC history to pass for over 1,000 yards and was a 2002 Bluffton College Hall of Fame inductee.
